I think it really depends on the area. The white supremacists are certainly emboldened, as evidenced by all the rallies they've been having or attempting to have

I don't know why they think Trump emboldens them though after his second speech on Charlottesville.  https://www.zeolla.org/politics/articles/2017/Charlottesville.htm

As I said on Saturday, we condemn in the strongest possible terms this egregious display of bigotry, hatred, and violence. It has no place in America. And as I have said many times before, no matter the color of our skin, we all live under the same laws; we all salute the same great flag; and we are all made by the same Almighty God. We must love each other, show affection for each other, and unite together in condemnation of hatred, bigotry, and violence. We must discover the bonds of love and loyalty that bring us together as Americans. Racism is evil, and those who cause violence in its name are criminals and thugs, including the KKK, neo-Nazis, white supremacists, and other hate groups that are repugnant to everything we hold dear as Americans. We are a nation founded on the truth that all of us are created equal. We are equal in the eyes of our Creator, we are equal under the law, and we are equal under our Constitution. Those who spread violence in the name of bigotry strike at the very core of America (copied from Quartz. Full text: Donald Trump says “racism is evil” in his latest statement on Charlottesville. Capitalization of Almighty, Creator, and Constitution added as such should be capitalized).

It actually fits a pattern that they believe people must follow in order to be white supremacists in public. They get excited when a public figure says something that makes them believe he is "one of them" and with Trump there are ALOT of those type of statements throughout his history.

When due to public pressure that public figure is forced to withdraw or modify whatever statement he originally made that the supremacists like they view it as the public figure simply "playing the game" to retain their position.

Becuase at that he had already tacitly endorsed them with his good people on both sides comment

There is an inconsequential number regardless. What percentage of 300 million do you think they are?  Less than half of an eighth of a percent? Less?

Yeah. Less. Probably much less.

Still too many racist pieces of **** for me.

Besides, the causal racism is a bigger problem. Just look at the politics section here

So you'd rather just tell people they're all around with nothing to back it up. That's the same unfounded, irresponsible, fear mongering as AOC saying our borders are full of concentration camps.

Keeping on topic I guess the question has to be do you think we’re going to have a civil war over casual racism or over a very minuscule number of card carrying nazis?

I don't. I’m not racist or at least try not to be and working on that is about as far as I’m willing to go on it.

There is no chance of literal civil war over race in this country. There could possibly be some outbursts among fringe groups but those would be anomolies and at the end of the day I think 300+M people have better things to do.

The most likely case, yet still incredibly unlikely, would be based on politics.

I would agree with you if it weren’t for the extreme TDS on the left convinced that trump is the next Antichrist. They dream of rebellion and work to silence any opposition, they’re stated ultimate goal to topple the patriarchy and bring down the never great USA. Both sides full of unhinged weirdos

The TDS people are no worse than all the people who acted the same towards obama.

Ha, there is no comparison. TDS is a collective meltdown of people needing counciling, crying, fighting, shaking and acting like lunatics. There never been anything like it.

TDS is nothing but a term engineered so you can put people in a box in order to avoid any quality interactions with their thoughts or ideas.

Holy **** so I was looking for examples of republicans losing their crap over Obama (honestly while there are a TON theyre all nasty and vile so far  nothing really funny or memeable) and I came across this

Right wing abandons facts to bash Obama

The article is so old that I dont think the video even works in it anymore but what caught my eye was

Rachel Maddow reports on the latest example of Obama Derangement Syndrome in right-wing media - outrage over the president's reading of the Gettysburg Address.

I didnt realize the "derangement syndrome" term had made the rounds before

I use the term sparingly plus I was responding to someone else using it but it looks like you found nothing but some regular political dissent. Where's the mounds of videos of people crying, requiring council and attacking people wearing Obama gear on the streets?

They’re worse. See the videos of people on their knees screaming at the inauguration, of people kicked off planes, giving women bloody noses, spraying elderly people with mace, stealing hats, throwing drinks, throwing eggs, refusing service, crying, and on, and on, and on.  The left reaction is much, much worse. Find video of anyone behaving like that because of Obama being president.

Huh. I don't think a second American Civil War will happen in the foreseeable future. If indeed ever.

With our relatively mature society, it breaks-down to this...

12% hate our Government

25% support our Government

25% don't care

13% are all talk and no action

25% care but have better things to do

I can see Trump being the last Republican President.  After Trump, the Parties will realign.  Conservative vs Progressive (American Socialist Party) or ASP.  And they will just make an ASP of themselves. ;)

I don’t see a Civil War happening.  The Left would have to be very careful to position their pieces just right so that wouldn’t happen.  So that when it did happen, the opposition wouldn’t have any course of action.  It would take several generations to breed out patriotism.  That’s why Obama was working for a NCSF.  Why Obama weaponized the Administrative State against Americans.  Why Obama was putting bans on ammo (not guns).  Why Obama built up the Plantation to keep the American citizen down.

The thing is, they keep saying Trump is dividing America. I see no racism anywhere other than on camera during Police action by the Police themselves. It must be a wet dream to be a covert Klansman with a badge and a license to literally kill knowing in most cases, and I do mean most, the Officer will walk away Scott free. And I am not saying Officers are racist, however many are caught during violent confrontations saying the N word So it makes you wonder. And at that point, you should not be allowed within the Judicial system, as your bias is clear.

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) — Philadelphia Police Commissioner Richard Ross announced Wednesday that 72 officers are on administrative duty, and that some of them might be terminated, for alleged racist and violent social media posts. Hundreds of Philadelphia police officers have been accused of these type of social media posts.

With the officers being placed on administrative duty, they no longer will interact with the public and have turned in their department side arm.

The protest organizers want all of the nearly 330 officers accused of racist and violent posts on social media assigned to desk duty, pending an investigation.

Lo and behold, there is hope...

Yeah, I don't get why people post stupid stuff on their social media.  Employers look at it fairly regularly.  Heck, governments are even demanding that you let them access it on mobile devices nowadays.  Had one guy post a picture of his garage which had all the things he stole from construction sites in the background.  He didn't even bother to cover the various company colors/stencils on the stuff either.
