I think the days of "we are Americans,first and foremost" are over...

Of course some US products have a worldwide impact somehow but the trade balance deficit, for example, between Germany and the USA is an indicator where the good stuff is made and, purchased.

I wish we could get one of the washer dryers that I used when I was in Germany in the 70's.  It was one machine that did both.  And the hot water did not come out of the spigot, it was heated in the machine as well.  Very practical for people who live in small spaces.  In the U.S. people never think of these things but some could use them if they had access.

These units dont play a role here anymore because the energy consumption is more than 1 washing machine and 1 dryer together. And, the water consumption is very high as the dryer use water as coolant.

except for some bmw and mb models, (my x3 is made in usa)  i do not think i came across much products made in Germany here, in a while.  we do have bottled water made in Germany here, that is about it,

when i was in Russia i was talking to a butcher at the market, he said the best steel for a knife is a ww2 German bayonet, he said no other steel can be sharpened to that point, and hold the edge as long,  he had several bayonets sharpened,  he would not touch any other knife.

I don't doubt it abit...i've had a lotta knives in my lifetime,and still find German made to be of much better quality...I have found a FEW American made that can hold up next to them,but not alot.

Yeah they make some good ones,but i'm not talking about katana's or kitchen knives

i have several Japanese  kitchen knives,  the steel there is good but not  anything i have not seen before,  the way they sharpen it is very different,  it's beveled on one side only,  and the flat side has tiny vertical groves, this way the knife basically sharpens itself, and the edge is actually a mircosaw.

My Kershaw (usa) is s better all around knife but I have a German blade that will take a beating and still shave the hair on your arm.

I just thought of something I really miss from Germany, Snickers bars with hazelnuts instead of peanuts.  That is something you can't get in the U.S. that could be exported.

My favorite kitchen knife I've ever had is the "as seen on TV" ceramic Yoshi blade. I've had that thing about 10 years and it still slices like a boss. 

As for the topic at hand I don't believe for one second that Nancy cares for minorities beyond their vote and her liberal values don't help them one iota but I also don't think she's a racist. AOC probably is though. She's also an idiot and grown from moss directly from the DC swamp. She denies that statement was calling Pelosi a racist. Yea ok. I do enjoy watching this party eat each other alive though. This party has zero real convictions. The only person in that party that seems to have any integrity, or I should say seems real, is Tulsi Gabbard from what I've seen of her so far but there's a long campaign season ahead so we'll see.
