You know which tweet we are talking about. You yourself have confirmed the context refers to "the Squad".

It raises an apprehension that Trump has determined the Squad are not from USA based on their appearance or race. The tweet was racist.  Whatever can be derived from that, is up to the individual.

It's curious why Trump is always compared to Obama.  Is/was he the standard?  It's basically an argument of social injustice.  Why continue to ape the SJW?

I would suggest Trump is mainly ignorant. Three were born in the USA and he didnt seem to realize that. That's stupid, not racist.

Probably the comparisons happen with President Obama because he was the last president, and he dismissed the Conservatives, much like Trump dismisses the Left.

There’s four of them which deserves it for what behavior? You are allowed to promote socialist democracy or pretty much any other kind of government philosophy in this country.

yea, she was told to go to somalia to see how good she has it, and others were told to go back to their districts and do when they were elected to do.

see, no race here, but you see nothing but it,

That was my first post in several days, not sure about "my argument"

So, assume Trump is racist to some degree. What is to be done about it?

He is President of the entire country, not just the parts he likes.   His minions say his attacks are not racist and he is merely hitting back.  If he wants to hit back, he can  rip their policies to shreds, not the city they came from.

I agree, but when one side single handidly points out EVERY group into a "sub-group" to pander to for votes..."I'm here to unite Americans,African Americans,Latino Americans,LGBTQ + Americans,ect,ect,ect...

THAT IS DIVIDING AMERICANS INTO GROUPS!!!...That is not a message of unity of "ONE" Americans!...

If one single person EVER so much as uttered that same phrase and started with "WHITE Americans" the media would s*** their drawers!...Nope can't be any speak of the sinister "White Americans" :o

You have to wonder what was the reasoning behind not realising three of the Squad were from the USA.  It's reasonable to suspect that it may have been because of their appearance.  Could it possibly be their names?

But, it is comical that he suggest immigration is a remedy for criticism when that's a major part of his platform.

Keeping Obama as the standard is a typical social injustice argument.

Sure, that  is one way to look at it, but a lot of this comes down to equal treatment under the law and an expectation that the Constitution and Bill of Rights applies to all Americans equally. If certain groups, like blacks, women, LGBTQ, Indians, and Hispanics feel as if they have been kicked to the curb, they get riled and feel like they need to be heard.  I am not any one of those groups, so maybe I don't get the message.

You want to Unite Americans?  Provide equal justice under the law.  And one more division:  justice should be the same for people of all economic stations.

You just WANT it to be racist, so you accept that it is. Even though there isnt anything directly racist there.

Forget racist for a minute.

Lets just talk about discussion, debate, and argument.   When you disagree with someone's idea, name calling and insulting, "so is your mother" type stuff  is a play ground, pointless way that resolves nothing, .

If I say I am opposed to Trump's Immigration policy because he is orange, fat, lies all the time and cheats on his wife.   That is not an argument about immigration policy.  It is not racism, but it is an attack on his person.  That is wrong for an adult, especially a powerful one to indulge in doing.

When it comes to immigration, I  want a stronger border, beefed up points of entry, and barriers.   I want to cut the supply of drugs and human trafficking.   I would prefer it if Donald Trump talked less and deported more.  I would prefer it if he did not demonize foreigners and promote fear.  Those are policy disagreements.  President Trump's fidelity does not belong in that discussion.

The Squads countries or origin have nothing to do with their arguments, or the Congressman from Baltimore's position in Congress as a committee chair.

Sure i agree with you,but does "justice" for all and the creating of "equals" justify putting ONLY those from other catergories into positions of power and making them off limits to criticism, law, and fair objectivity?

If we get into the subject of law enforcment...good god, that goes above and beyond color!...that is a deep dive head first into stupidity in our country, yep SOME comes down to profiling and stereotypes...but "EQUAL JUSTICE" problem in America is more class warfare than anything!

No worries though for those who disagree,America is probably THE most diverse large country on the planet!...The "white majority" is growing old and fading quicker thsn studies from even 20 years ago ever imagined...who's next in line to blame for "America's problems"

I've said it many times on here through the years, the Republicans in another 25 years will be the biggest losers from the whole "Latin American exchange"...but in the long run,it will ELIMINATE the far left wing promises for all ideology!...

From Mexico to the tip of South America, their people are far more "Conservative" than our current let it all fly on our tv screens,radios,internet,ect...will EVER let fly!

It's a tale of stupidity that leads to in the scale of things short term gains,in the long term (another 25-50 years) the NEW Conservative party...well they will crash the free for all society to a halt!

Hell we both may be gone by then, but as far as "society advancing",yeah some wierdo's might be screwing robots in the future, but history repeats...a free for all society only goes along for so long!

Trump is a Bob Crumb underground cartoon President. The outrageous, over-the-top twitter offerings are veritable satires of everything one is not suppose to think, say do or act upon. He says things ordinary people say, out of the public eye. He addresses thoughts, concerns and worries of millions of Americans, seething under the surface, giving it an outlet, like lancing an ugly boil. He's hardly oblivious to the absurdity of most  of what he tweets. Far from being a racist, he's an equal opportunity A$$hole; the color of your skin won't spare you his attention, whatever it's color.

But,but,but...look at who he just promoted to such and such office!!!

Yet very little mention when such and such he promoted to any office gets kicked to the curb and scorned by him, then it becomes "who does he think he is kicking such an honerable and esteemed civil servant to the curb like that after all they've done for OUR county!!!"  (a CNN exclusive/book deal ;))

I've seen several on this very board tear McCain too pieces, but once the old crook "stood up" to Trump after he found out he was dieing...Well he became a virtue symbol from god himself of what a wonderful, respectful, glorious human being should look like...

Unbelievable....

I've seen all this s*** unfold before my very eyes over the last 6 years...argue all you want, proof is out there to dispute it!

Yes you’re right. Trump will attack you regardless of race, gender. religion etc. But tell me something, when we are using the expression of sending an American back where they came from who are we talking about historically? Aren’t we saying “We oughta send them all back to Africa!” Yes that is exactly where that phrase comes from. It is inherently racist and something that should never be said. Why lie to yourself about it? (Not speaking to you but the thread in general) It was a highly inappropriate and unacceptable comment made by the president of the USA. Every thinking, compassionate American should reprimanded him.

So  they have always and will always  toss around the race baiting narrative in place of actually working together with anyone that is truly able and willing to actually help solve the problems in America,    Trump will be reelected in 2020.

eta.

Rep. Ilhan Omar is right now staying at a five-star hotel in Venice, Italy with Nancy Pelosi and other fat-cat Democrats. Living the high-life, Omar just dumped her husband, who she just married in 2018. He is reported to be the father of her three kids. This caused Minneapolis reporters to dig deeper into her past and find an extensive criminal history along with a long rap sheet. Don’t miss this.

Hardly. It's no more offensive than "Yankee, Go Home!" Trump's stock and trade has always been over-the-top hyperbole and he's not about to stop, now. He brings very real things ordinary people think but never say, out in the open, where they can be dealt with, racism, sexism, blind hate, political divisiveness. He makes people confront and face their inner demons, the sheer absurdity of it all. Everyone is in a rush of denial, as he draws out the "better angels of their nature". No. we really don't want to ship them back; no one should be forced to live in Baltimore, Chicago or Philly, or whatever perceptual urban hellhole they came from. It is a legitimate question to ask--if you don't love America, why be here? You can leave any time you want--why suffer? Well, the answer is, of course, they all love America, after their own fashion. They all want to make it a better place. Stripped of our political angst, we see them as just people, with whom we may disagree, but, never-the-less, human and vulnerable and despite ourselves, worthy pf being treated with dignity and respect. Trump forces us to be contrite and ashamed, not of him, but of what the mirror he makes of himself shows of ourselves.

Inspiring? Only a narcissistic is inspired by what they see in a mirror. On the other hand, if the Left continues it's one dimensional myopic take on this very complex man, they're going to get him elected, a-gain.  This guy knows how to work a room. History will know him as "The Great Manipulator."

The term Yankee go home is a Japanese saying protesting our presence in their land after the war. Link So you are wrong.  Trump using the phrase he did is magnitudes more offensive especially considering it's origin.  As for the rest of your post why are you assigning a meaning to what he said?  If he meant to say "If you don't love this country you're free to go" why not just say that?  If you're seriously going to defend what he said you must be a bit of a psycho.  Is he a friend of yours?  Do you know him?  Have you met him?  He's a D-bag, plain and simple.  While I won't go as far as simply saying he is a racist that was a racist thing to say.
