Two kingfishers perch on an angler's rods

An angler caught the astonishing moment two kingfishers sat perfectly poised on his pair of fishing rods.

Keith Garfield, 42, was lying on his bedchair by the River Trent the morning after an overnight fishing session when he spotted one of the birds had landed on his left-hand rod.

He carefully pointed his phone in its direction to avoid scaring the kingfisher away when another landed on his other rod just as he was about to take the photo.
