Iran has seized a British flagged Oil Tanker in the Strait of Hormuz. Well it's started, Britain seizes an Iranian Oil Tanker and Iran strikes back. Now the only question is where will this go from here.

It is sad America used those bombs to win the Japanese  war that attack us in the past, but both the Americans and Russia they both got the   development  from the Hitler`s  bomb, we both realized there are no winners in a big bomb war .:( Iran will want to control the world with  atomic bombs:)

America had its own program to produce an Atomic Bomb. It did not used Germanise program to build it, the lead scientist in charge of program was Robert Oppenheimer and the program was called the Manhatten Project.

Medias love to overreact when tensions rise. There is no objective approach in reporting and they jump to conclusions and accusations instead. Politicians are there in instant to give statements, often personal, in order to gain political points.

Reality is that ships get investigated quite often by all regional countries. After all they all fight against smugglers, weapons dealers, narcotics and possibly the deal with shipments of arms to terror groups. Should we have article about every such case? Is there space for that?

Sometimes tankers which get boarded belong to powerful nations or are affiliated with companies from those nations. And they never complain about such procedures regardless of who is conducting the law, Iran or UAE...

Right now, when situation is quite serious - everything can be used to accuse the other side.

Media manipulation (or simply result of ignorance and amateur behavior by journalists) was already proven behind many reports. With that in mind it seems that tanker had issues, technical or something else. That resulted in breaching of some laws regarding innocent passage for example. At least such story is presented by Iranian authorities. Link to article on PressTV.

With so many reports it's hard to make solid conclusion. Was one tanker released? Other one was assisted in port? Or both were hijacked by Iranian pirates :D or what. Meanwhile Iranians are being charged 200k$ daily for ''using'' Saudi assistance. That's comedy.

Medias are slowly becoming both prosecutors and judges.

So was this an attempt, or did Iran actually seize this tanker, reports seem to be changing.

https://www.washingtonexaminer.com/opinion/iran-seizes-two-british-tankers-and-makes-a-huge-mistake

https://www.cnn.com/2019/07/19/middleeast/british-tanker-seized-iran-intl/index.html

This was from ten days ago, but there doesn't seem to be any more updated news on the matter.

this seems to be the most recent

https://www.bbc.com/news/uk-49074032

The Iranian Government can not be trusted, and it is clearly retaliation for their own tanker being seized by them breaking sanctions placed on them.

IF the crew returns home safely, it will be a miracle.

Actually, Iran's government can be trusted completely. They said they would do this, then they did it. That's nothing if not trustworthy.

Why do you think Iran would harm the crew? What benefit do you see for them there?

yeah trust is a perspective I guess, Benefit to harming the crew ? , I guess the same benefit that North Korea had in torturing Otto Warmbier,  It is just what Terrorist nations do. They already staged the photos taken of the crew aboard the vessel.  Their treatment isn't going to be pleasant and terrorist nations do not care about treating people humanely and if anything the Iran hostage crisis of 79 is a good example of what to expect by Iran,  and even more of an indicator of what the world can expect  Britain to do. Sit and wait and hope.  A moronic approach to take. If anything the Strait of Hormuz should of immediately been shut down via a military  blockaide and no one gets in or out with out a military escort . Putting up sanctions and then expecting criminals to abide by the rule of law is insane. But I imagine one day Iran is going to cross a line, they keep pushing the line and testing the world, an one day someone will have enough of their bullying and supplying of terrorists.

Everyone saw this coming, so perhaps the real question is why in the world did these companies still send their vessels in dangerous waters and why wasn't private security placed on these vessels along with anti piracy devices. Anything would of been better than nothing the best option would of been Britain guarding their own vessels with their own navy. So. who knows. ripe for conspiracy theories though.

There is ab so lutely 0 evidence or even indication for that. If there is any relatively big player amonst the nations which hasnt started any wars to push its control over others, its Iran. If Iran goes nuclear in a military fashion, there are numerous variables which indicate such a move would be in response to outside agression.. That is to say, the USA shouted on by its unwaverable ally Israel.

If I had anything to say in Iran, I would do exactly that.. for the simple reason it will be the only real safeguard against the warmongering tactics by the aformentioned. It would be extremely naive to not persue that avenue given the present circumstances.

Iran doesnt need Nukes or anything to control the world, they are doing  fine job financing terrorism world wide, and bullying their neighbors, though that being said, they have even more leverage to gain by obtaining nukes and that has to prevented.    An the comment on being sad to beat Japan in WWII Via the Atomic bomb .. is a bit naive , Japan started the fight unprovoked by attacking pearl harbor , An what most people do not know is that the Abombs used, were not a first option. They were a last option, Japan was fire bombed beyond belief, it was expected that the government of Japan would pressure its leader at the time to surrender and that the destruction would force the people of Japan to demand a surrender. That never came, America was working on a full blown land invasion of Japan before the A bombs were dropped and it was basically a toss up, Full invasion and take over of Japan or the Atomic Bomb.   Neither were a " pretty option " but what was America supposed to do ? Send flowers after pearl harbor and ask nicely that Japan apologize for murdering innocent people ? An then once a military response was taken, Japan should of instantly begged for an end after the first round of bombings, Everything that happened after Pear Harbor fells square on the shoulders of the government of Japan.

With Iran, nothing now is warmongering , No one ever wants a war, except perhaps the industries that make the war machines. Governments of the free world do not want a war and it is foolish to even suggest that. Though when bully / terrorist nations are left unchecked and continue to break sanctions and refuse to abide by human decency and the rule of law, they in turn force the free world to act more aggressively via their military which should for rational people be a sign to stop their bad behavior , but it never does. In turn these same bullies and terrorist nations get more pig headed and stubborn they refuse to learn from history they refuse to live in a peaceful manner, and they continue down the path they are on and then escalate a bad situation into full military conflict.  Either way it isn't started by free nations.

well there ya go Brazil tried to at least alert said companies, still doesnt make sense why these companies didnt do more to protect their own vessels. An that other clipping from 79 just proves how Iran loves to taunt and bully when they can.... though i suspect one could say, SEE IRAN THINKS THE USA IS TO BLAME BECAUSE JIMMY CARTER REALLY DID START THE TROUBLE, wink wink. Jimmy Carter was a complete putz though so it isn't like he was going to be taken seriously.

an no , chuckles, no one thinks England is a terrorist nation. They are apart of the civilized free world like a majority of nations are.

Worries of destabilization an area, and not wanting to be responsible for clean up after a war are just some of the reasons why Iran hasn't been taken out. Oil production use to be the narrative and was true to a degree. But There are plenty more places now in the world to get oil from than to worry about losing a few suppliers in Iran. More over it would make more sense to take a play out of the socialist / democrat hand book, and really do the war for oil bit they use to cry back in the day. Take out the Iranian government , put the UN in control, split up the oil fields, send in the red cross, an some other NGOs and call it a day. Then you wipe out a terrorist regime , stop the financial funding of terrorism out of Iran, and start getting the foot hold of civility and freedom into place. Is it easy, no, would lives be lost, yes. But the gains for the world out weigh the losses.

The problem is rational approaches to bullies and terrorists do not work,  all one can do is bribe them to stop their actions for a period of time and then eventually they just start back up.  While it is noble to approach things from a stance of peace, and work tirelessly for peace at some point it just becomes pointless. An you either let those bully / terrorist nations do what ever they want when they want, and turn a blind eye to what they do and make more excuses for their actions.  Mean while, where are the news outlets on reporting the hostages that Iran now has ?

Not to be seen because they can not blame Trump for  the actions of Iran, the " News " outlets can not figure out how to pin this on Trump so it becomes a non issue.  Mean while families wait in fear for their loved ones to come home.

I am curious to see what we gain. I know what Iran will lose, their autonomy - their right not to be a puppet state of America... AGAIN.
How'd that work the last time the US tried it?

fascists , socialists, communists, basically anyone against the idea of freedom for their people, would have an extremely hard time understanding, and again the idea that the US, started or tried anything is naive , free nations react to bully/ terrorist nations they dont start conflict, they work to end it.  Another naive concept is thinking that there are puppet states to America.

An it isn't what " We gain " it is what the world gains, the world gains one less terrorist nation.

Fair enough.  I still prefer isolationism, at this point, and it is because Washington and their lobby groups have abused the privilege of running the world's largest military. It should almost never be in America's interest to police the world.

If the Iranian people want freedom from the Mullahs, let *them* decide/revolt. They did it before, they can do it again.

True. They did. And what happened? The west imposed a puppet as their leader. Direct outcome of that - the mullahs.

If the west would Iet Iranians live their lifes and own their own wealth the mullahs would not see tomorrow.

oh you are right, America should not be the world police, this mess at the moment is entirely on Britain and the companies that sent those vessels into the strait of hormuz , though the rest of the free world seems to for some reason take an approach of a sit and wait to see what America says first.  Israel , Britain ,England, every free nation in the world does not need permission from America to protect themselves in any manner they see fit. An everyone should know by now that if they want help from the US Military all they have to do is ask.   Though with America being apart of N.A.T.O that could be a reason why to a degree America is the world police. In simplicity anyone who attacks a NATO member nation is picking a fight with everyone else signed on with NATO. So in turn America really does not need to take a wait and see approach in sending military aid where needed.

A bit of isolationism deff wont hurt, but to totally cut America off from the rest of the world and tell everyone tough luck is just going to paint a bigger target on America in the form of resentment and then that breeds a ton of other problems and eventually someone is going to want to pick a fight. All anyone really wants is to just be left the F alone, left alone by their government and left alone by other nations problems as we as individuals have enough problems of our own to handle as it is.

But we have terrorist nations out there, like N, Korea and Iran. If  Kim Jung Un would stop shooting missles every where and letting his leaders threaten America on his behalf, no one would bat an eye at him, same for Iran, if they stopped funding terrorism and stopped hijacking vessels and etc, no one would give two beans about em. An these leaders of these two nations could go about terrorizing their people with no interference from the rest of the free world other than the minor belly aching at international meetings. But the thing with revolting, The people of N.Korea simply just can not do it. They are practically starving, they have no access to weapons and they live in utter fear of someone they have been brain washed into basically worshiping, I do think the people of Iran stand a better chance of revolting, and that may well happen if sanctions continue and pressure keeps building. But even with revolutions,  America an the rest of the free world does end up stepping in, because we see time and again the resistance by inhumane leaders, they resort to brutally attacking their own people with horrible weapons, the soldiers of these leaders in the throws of losing end up resorting to criminal behavior which violates all sorts of international laws, and then the free world can no longer sit by and watch as innocent lives that wanted freedom get snuffed out.

Ah, you mean like the terrorist free Iraq, Afghanistan, Libya? What utter unadulterated BS. How is it some people can actually state these things without blinking, been living under a roch the past 20 odd years?

And for the 3562'th time; if a source of terrorism is the main rational to attack Iran, target Saudi Arabia first; as they far outweigh Iran in the sourcing of terrorism department.. You know, Sunni Wahhabism - where 95% of the present day terrorists hail from.. as opposed to Shia based terrorism, which bleaks in comparison.

I will guarantee you one thing; if the US reduces Iran to an Iraq, you will have another terrorist breedingground on your hands.

Terrorist nation you say..

Iran isnt even in thesame dimension, killing civilians enmasse wise.

Its pure conditioning to be able to reconcile attacking Iran for seeding terrorism with the present backdrop, regarding the USA as 'the good guys'. Conditioned, for example, to regard terrorism as only coming from bomb- belted Arabs, never from heavily armed soldiers or military hardware, used to illegally and deceitfully start a war of agression against a foreign state.

Truth is in facts and figures. No one single entity even come close to the number of wars started, chaos seeded, death & destruction dealt by the USA after WWII. In that sense, she is nothing like the policeman of the world, but a Godfather terrorising every- and any one who dares to go against its will. Only conditioning, propaganda, could make you think otherwise.

Facts and figures Gardener, cold hard facts and clearcut figures. I blame the USA for the number of wars of agression started, the number of sovereign states subverted and delved into chaos, the sheer number of innocent civilians killed and victimized.

I am not however, blaming the US 'for the worlds ailments'.. Which is a rather typical, void & meaningless slur coming from someone with a very weak position.. Fact wise.
