Gwynbleidd Posted July 22, 2019 #4 Share Posted July 22, 2019 I think that's a great question especially when we can come back in 2020 and look at what our thoughts were at this time Imo, if the Dems don't come up with someone who is a half decent opponent in the next couple of months, then it's most likely going to be Trump. The Dems are all over the place right now. They're not willing to work with Republicans and/or Trump under ANY circumstances to get things changed/fixed or updated so this isn't going to do them any favours in the long term. Trump on the other hand, is carrying on doing as he usually does. Tweeting randomly each day, stirring up the Dems, Dems scream outrage, Trump's already moved on.....rinse and repeat the next day. At least he's trying to get things done in the background and attempting to get the country back on track, whether you like his style or not, is kinda irrelevant. The Dems aren't being Team Players and nor are some of the Reps. To progress, people need to find a way to work together and at this stage it's like an ongoing war against moving forward with ANY type of change proposed. I'm going to have to say Trump in 2020....unless the Dems can pull a rabbit out of the hat with someone totally new who's policies and likability appeals to both sides of the aisle, they're probably going to be in the same boat as they are now. The only person running against him I would consider voting for is Andrew Yang, because I feel that he is actually a Libertarian just using the DNC to help fund his campaign the same way Sanders does. Russia may be tired of him, China certainly doesn't need him, North Korea may have a luke-warm friendship now, Saudi Arabia sure likes him though, and Israel. Israel at least is a heavy weight in the hacking department. They can hold their own pretty well. Bibi likes Donald, the Crown Prince likes his son-in-law. Depends on whose hackers are best, and how much time and money they want to invest on the candidate of their choice. Should I have counted Google, Facebook, and Amazon as major investors? Looking at betting sites he is the favourite by quite a bit. When elections happen then the biggest single influencing factor in someone being re-elected is their economic performance.
