perhaps but it is a fallacy.

And I did mean to write that Comey said he could *not* prove Hilary knew that what she did was wrong... etc etc. I left out the word "not".  OOPS! too late to edit

I've noticed that Tom Fitton (the one where is shirts never fit over is biceps! ) from Judicial Watch (described as conservative non-partisan org to remain objective and keep the overall Judicial system honest!) has so many investigations going and the emails are finally flowing in from the DoJ and FBI (after requesting them 16 months ago!).  These Govt depts move far too slow imho.

I'm surprised he hasn't been knocked off yet to be honest.  The stuff he's finding is kept rather quiet in the msm unless you actually go looking for the information you rarely see it.  I watch his weekly report on YT for anyone else interested its here.

It is a crime if he knew it was a crime. If you listen to that conversation he ask Cohen basically should he write a check? ( Which would leave a paper trail) and Cohen replied No, no, no. Cohen knew it was wrong, Trump wanting to write a "check" obviously did not. If he knew it was a crime he wouldn't have offered to write a "check" and any prosecutor is going to agree.

I was of the understanding that Cohen took it upon himself to write a check off his own back?  In his position, I would've imagined someone like him would just do  what HE thought would be best in keeping any sort of drama out of the press, which I don't necessarily agree with, but meh, worse things have happened in history.

Trump's a businessman, not a lawyer.  This is why he has these people work for him.  They specialise in the law, therefore, one cannot expect Trump to be aware of the ins and outs of the law like Cohen would've been aware.  I feel like this has turned into a desperate game of grasping at straws.  So silly!

Tough year huh risky?  Guess what, it is going to get much worse, you lose, you lost and it is just going downhill from here.  Enjoy the ride you triggered progressive, I know I will.  The new left that you support

Its Risky with a capital, for you!

You mean the left that took the time to read Mueller's report instead of reading Trump's twitter version? Is that the new left you're talking about?

Tough year though risky for triggered leftists like you, right?  I mean you haven't been right about a single thing and not a single one of wishes has come true.   Maybe some of these criminals will avoid jail, that should make you happy but its not looking that way.  Must suck to have to cheer for criminals but hey, that is the price you pay to be a leftist.

Described as such by themselves. They are a hugely partisan organization that slides further towards extremism annually.

Exactly what law has Trump broken?  Federal?  State?

He hasn't broken any laws, if he had he would surely be charged by now, at least with a sealed indictment.  Ex is a hysterical Trump delusional sad-sack.  Scotland must be VERY boring if his only excitement is a vicarious political witch hunt :w00t:

Tell me why please, if an organisation is dedicated to getting to the truth, that's extremism to you?

Because theyre not. Theyre pushing a conservative agenda. I used to be a huge fan of theirs. The most recent piece I saw done by them was horrific. He was on Hannity talking about all this proof they had, without ever actually showing it on TV, so I found the documents he was referring to and it was absolute Qanon level conspiracy drivel. Actually it may be even worse than that because Qanon is at least imaginative, Judicial Watch have just become liars.

The reason I quite like them is because I don't believe they're for one side or the other.  They do say they're conservative non-partisan although, perhaps it's incredibly naive of me to hope that if they did find something illegal on the Rep side they'd action it, not just the Dem side.  I can understand how the Dems see it this way though.  Perhaps I'm just an eternal optimist and hope that all of these alleged "wrongs" are somehow "righted" in due course.  I don't believe any Govt should be able to get away with the things that have been reported over the past few years.  It's insanity.  To be honest, I'm finding it hard to watch Fox of late because I feel they've slipped even further to the right.  The gap is getting bigger and bigger over there.  I don't know how you guys are going to mend it.  Where on earth do the centrists sit now?  :(

Lemme check and I'll get back to you. :)  You said you used to follow them once, did they do it back then do you remember?

Oki dokes, here is their entire document archive (including court docs etc) where it has a search function and links to the right hand side to choose from if you're looking for something in particular.  This is why I quite like them, the documentation is provided - albeit not for that video I posted as that's obviously a podcast.

Please help me to understand why you feel that if an organisation is dedicated to getting to the truth, that's extremism to you?

Or is it simply because you've lost faith in Judicial Watch themselves because they're focused upon prev govt employee alleged conduct and crimes etc?   Is it a simple case of you don't agree with what they're doing?

I truly dont know. I was a centrist of sorts, an independant anyways,  until Trumpism so im probably not the best person to ask.

Its bad for sure. The truth is Trumpists and the rest of the nation dont just have different opinions on the same issue, the way normal politics have always worked, its that we are truly living in different realities.

I had to pull this section out and highlight it because it may perfectly exemplify the bizarrely effective mixture of victim hood propaganda and conspiracy mongering that the Trumpians have damn near perfected.

Even you in your sentence say they are alleged wrongs, and yet you hope they are righted.  Since they are just alleged, it seems the neutral optimist should say "I hope they didnt happen" until its proven they did, and then worry about them being righted.

Not meant as an insult just an observation.

Gotta be honest I was a rabid partisan right winger at the time so if they were shady back then I wouldnt have ever noticed because I didnt take the time to dig for facts beyond the rhetoric.

I have always seen them as a partisan machine working to expose the wrongs of "the other side".

With the rise in Trumpism, their support of it, and their blatant lying on Fox they have simply exposed themselves as fully partisan in a Trumpian sense which means they simply cant be trusted.

No, no it's ok, I don't take it as an insult, I take it as constructive criticism and I thank you for pointing it out.  It's always helpful to be corrected sometimes!

I'm not a Trump fan I should probably make that clear.  I'm much more of centrist (we call it here in Australia).  However, if you were in the same boat, wouldn't you want some sort of justice IF the opposing side had conducted themselves in an illegal manner etc?   I try to put myself in the other person's shoes and there seems to be a lot more "evidence" of wrongdoing that the left has been reported of, than the right at this stage.  This is just my perception of it though.

Personally, I think it's gotten far too irritating now for both sides.  I don't know how you're all going to be able to come back from this to some sort of normalcy.

That's fair enough and I can completely respect your answer and where you're coming from.  My Husband told me that Fox used to be Democrat at one stage too?  I haven't looked into that so I don't know.   I must admit, US Politics might be in somewhat of a jumble, but it's a damn site more entertaining than it is here.  I enjoy learning about it and how it works, but I'm no expert by any means.  If anything I'm a total learner and you guys in here arguing back and forth is a good eye opener and provides lots of insight into how "real" people are experiencing it over there!   I just form an opinion along the way according to whatever information (I try to keep to indep sites as msm has just gone too far each side for my liking) I find.  :D

Yes absolutely. The problem I have is its been 2+ years now of these claims and none of them ever prove out (i.e the Nunes Memo, Uranium1, the IG investigation) . IMO its become a very clear tactic to hurl some rumors of wrongdoing, spend a couple of weeks pushing those rumors and then move onto the next conspiracy theory before anyone gets too caught up in the previous theory ending up being fact free. They have perfected the outrage cycle and they know they have a loyal and captivated audience who wont bother to look into the details. I believe the dissolution of facts in our society is the greatest threat we face. Hey they warned us from day one though that "Alternative Facts" would be ruling our world.

I presume you're talking about the monstrous way the Republican party and their supporters in the media behave, but  Isn't that exactly how the mainstream media that supports the Democratic party behaves as well? isn't that exactly what Russiagate was?
