Gromdor Posted August 9, 2019 #28 Share Posted August 9, 2019 Some rural areas are just as bad but cities just have too much hidden infrastructure that urban animals thrive in. Miles of underground steam tunnels, sewers, subways, etc. Even the buildings themselves tend to have crawl spaces, shafts, and dead air spaces for the critters to live in. The problem isn't restricted to the poor or Democrats either- The restaurant in Trump Tower was cited for rodents, flies and roaches: https://www.theguardian.com/us-news/2019/jul/27/trump-attacks-rat-infested-district-after-rodents-reported-in-trump-tower The inspectors also found the restaurant to be “not vermin-proof” and said it was “conducive to attracting vermin” and “allowing vermin to exist”. - from the article. 3

Down here the sanitation dept. have. They also have new trucks that lift these new containers if they have too we all have them now. They hold a lot , have a good strong lid that is attached . They have wheels and a handle on one side , way to heavy to carry. The city of N.Y should do better to help prevent rodents and such also if people are slobs with their garbage I think these containers would make a big difference there . Depends on the age of the building. Some have trash chutes. Not sure if incinerators are legal anymore in all cities. But mostly big dumpsters like you see people hide jump into in the movies. Smarter animals can figure out how to open the lids, though. Not to mention they are often over filled and never really shut, have holes in them, or just plain don't have lids. And I'll be frank, rodents are like homeless people. They are there and annoying, but no one wants to spend any money or effort to fix the problem. Playing "Baby Shark" on a loudspeaker is about the most effort someone would do to address the issue. -edit to add: It's not like the trash magically disappears either. Land fills have to be reasonable close and breed rodents as well. Edited August 20, 2019 by Gromdor

I disagree with the statement made that republican/conservative states are just as bad. There's difference to be seen with the eyes in comparison among leadership and priorities of concern between the two party system and how each of them oversee states they are in charge of. Not saying every last conservative was a true one but it's obvious that the other party leadership has problems. Something is definitely wrong with what they champion and with how they let communities fail.

We have vaccines and antibiotics now. And the bubonic wasn't as fatal as when it turned into pneumonic plague. But, again, we have meds and thanks to our relatives who survived the outbreak of the plagues back then we have a fair amount of immunity now which weakens the overall effect. The medical science community has done wondrous amounts of good but I don't really think that it can fix everything when humanity is in some areas failing itself . The medical community had also created a drug epidemic by medicating humanity . There's so many variables that lead people down a path of what their life experiences. Spend a week in the hospital and had to take IV antibiotics for a month. It probably would have killed her in a day or two more but she finally got to a hospital who had a specialist on hand who recognized what it was. They kept saying her thumb was broken. (It wasn't.) The thing is, these contagions are everywhere now. In water, in the air, in things like a box of screws where you'd think they were made under fairly germ-free conditions. How the heck did flesh eating bacteria get in there? I think the world is forever trying to balance itself. When rats get out of control, they die off. When rabbits get too many, foxes mate more and hunt more and kill more. Then next season the wolves get fat on all the foxes. Nature balanced. I think bacteria is Mother Earth just saying it's time to thin the human herd a bit. It's too bad she had to take a shot at my daughter but, well, lesson learned there. She's never going to ignore even the slightest wound again.

If that could happen with a piece of metal or steal from a factory what about foods and drinks, scary thought . But I'm serious when I say this , I'm going to encourage my family to start to pray more not just before meals in giving thanks and those kinds of things but to pray more in general each day and throughout the day. Tho I get what you're saying, there's a difference between the creation and The Creator. Granted that nature is amazingly alive and all because Our Father God created it to be.
