Wallace Thrasher -missing Virginia drug pilot

Is anyone familiar with the mysterious disappearance of Wallace Thrasher, formerly of Bland County Virginia?  Was featured on Unsolved Mysteries originally back in 1995 and more recently on America's Most Wanted.  It's been theorized that he faked his death in 1984 after having a decade long career smuggling drugs from the Caribbean and South America into Southwest Virginia and other East Coast locales.

It's believed he died in 1985 in a plane crash in Belize. Some people questioned it but all the charges against him were dropped in 2015. Shortly before this plane crash there was another one that left one man dead. His disappearance led to one of the most successful drug investigations in US history. Now they feel the man is most likely dead.
