Barclay's is being urged to remove it's CEO because of his ties to Epstein.

https://www.nytimes.com/2020/03/02/business/dealbook/barclays-ceo-staley.html

An activist hedge fund that has repeatedly criticized Barclays called on the British bank’s board on Monday to withdraw its support for its chief executive, James E. Staley, over his ties to the financier Jeffrey Epstein.

In a public letter, the investment firm, Sherborne Investors — which says it is now the biggest single shareholder in Barclays — said renominating Mr. Staley as a director was “extremely ill advised.”

Sherborne argued that articles by The New York Times and other publications detailing the business relationship between the two men should disqualify Mr. Staley from Barclays’ board.

“A board that tolerates such conduct, whether occurring in the present or in the past, is also an enabler of that act,” Sherborne wrote in the letter. “Any shareholder that votes for a director in these circumstances would also be an enabler.”

Epstein reportedly had a girlfriend who was the last person to speak to him the day before he was found dead in his cell. She says he did not sound suicidal. The woman who is in her 30's is not considered a victim claims she was not exposed to any sex trafficking by Epstein. Some question if she was forced into a same sex marriage. Good article. I had no idea he had a steady girlfriend. Ghislaine must have loved this.

The last person to speak on the phone with Jeffrey Epstein had no idea the accused sex trafficker she’d loved deeply for years was about to kill himself, the Daily News has learned.

The multimillionaire sex offender’s final recorded phone call from Metropolitan Correctional Center was with Karyna Shuliak the night before Aug. 10, when the 66-year-old perv was found hanging in his cell, a source familiar with the matter said.

“When she hung up the phone she was not under the impression Epstein was suicidal,” the source said.

Nonetheless, a prosecutor from the Southern District of New York sought to review a recording of the final conversation with Shuliak, seeking any hidden meanings that could only be understood by the duo that had been together for four or five years, sources said. Shuliak declined due to concerns about her own possible legal exposure amid ongoing federal investigations into Epstein’s shadowy world, according to a source.

A Congresswoman from California asked a Justice Department official if Epstein was an undercover FBI informant.

https://nypost.com/2020/02/29/democratic-congresswoman-reportedly-asks-doj-if-epstein-was-fbi-informant/

Rep. Jackie Speier reportedly asked John Demers, the assistant attorney general of the national security division, the way off topic question at a House Intelligence Committee briefing on the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act, set to expire in several weeks, the Daily Beast reported.

She introduced her inquiry by noting the obvious — it was not on the agenda, the outlet reported.  Demers answered that he had no knowledge of Epstein working for the agency, noting that he works for Justice, not the FBI, according to the report.

UK investigators are looking into Barclays' CEO Staley's visits to Little St James Island.

https://www.foxbusiness.com/lifestyle/epstein-linked-barclays-ceo-under-investigation-for-visits-to-financiers-island

Officials are looking to see how information Staley provided Barclays, which the bank then provided to regulators, compares to documents, including emails, that investigators received from JP Morgan, where Staley worked at the time of his association with Epstein, the outlet reported, citing sources familiar with the investigation.

“Mr. Staley visited Little St. James twice, accompanied by his wife on both visits,” a Barclays spokesman told The Journal. “The visits to Little St. James, and his meetings at the Manhattan address where Epstein maintained an office, were disclosed to the board.”

The Attorney General of the Virgin Islands has agreed to lift liens put against Epstein's estate so victims can be compensated.

https://nypost.com/2020/03/04/us-virgin-islands-clears-way-for-jeffrey-epstein-victims-fund/

AG Denise George says her office has reached an agreement with victims to release liens she put on the dead pedophile’s assets in January, so that they can be paid through a victim compensation fund.

“The Attorney General intends to permit the release of Estate assets to allow for just compensation of victims of Mr. Epstein through the administration of the Fund assuming that certain enhancements to the claims program are implemented,” Assistant AG Carol Thomas-Jacobs wrote in papers filed Tuesday in Virgin Islands Superior Court.

Prince Andrew not helping prosecutors

"Speaking to reporters on Monday, U.S. Attorney Geoffrey Berman said, “Contrary to Prince Andrew’s very public offer to cooperate with our investigation into Epstein’s co-conspirators, an offer that was conveyed via press release, Prince Andrew has now completely shut the door on voluntary cooperation and our office is considering its options.”"

Prince Andrew may be re-entering royal life one engagement at a time.

Ghislaine Maxwell may have persuaded him to snub the FBI.

He appears to have hired an extradition lawyer. I had no idea he would even need one. The FBI just wants to question him.

He still will not cooperate in spite of making public promises that he would.

Russian pranksters have released two prank calls Prince Harry received in Canada. Allegedly, he talks about Prince Andrew in them.

 https://www.townandcountrymag.com/society/tradition/a31400416/prince-harry-prince-andrew-jeffrey-epstein-friendship-prank-phone-call-comment/

In one of the prank phone calls, Harry commented on his uncle Prince Andrew's friendship with convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein, noting that he and Meghan are “completely separate from the majority of my family.”

“I have very little to say on that,” he reportedly said when asked about Andrew's association with Epstein.

“But whatever he has done or hasn’t done, is completely separate from me and my wife. We operate in a way of inclusivity and we are focusing on community. And so we are completely separate from the majority of my family.”

“Prince Andrew has now completely shut the door on voluntary cooperation,” US Attorney for Manhattan, Geoffrey S. Berman, said on Monday. He also noted that his office is "considering its options" regarding Prince Andrew, but did not further clarify what those options might include.

Netflix is releasing a new docu-series centring around the 'relentless manipulation and sexual trafficking' perpetrated by Jeffrey Epstein.

The series, entitled Jeffrey Epstein: Filthy Rich, was announced by the Netflix US Twitter account and it is not yet clear whether it will be released internationally.

"Jeffrey Epstein’s alleged madam Ghislaine Maxwell has sued his estate for coverage of legal bills, security costs and costs for “safe accommodations,” according to court papers filed in the US Virgin Islands.

"The disgraced British socialite — who has been in hiding — says she worked for Epstein from 1999 through at least 2006 and he “promised Maxwell that he would support her financially.”"

Must be running out of money and friends. I don't see her winning this case. She's wanted herself. Even in the Virgin Islands.

This video is from ABC Australia. There's not a lot of news about Epstein right now due to the coronavirus. It's a good video.

Epstein's estate lawyers tried to get some of the victims cases thrown out by saying the cases violated the statute of limitations and saying some of the victims were over 18 when they were abused.

https://nypost.com/2020/03/20/executors-of-jeffrey-epsteins-estate-say-victims-lawsuit-is-time-barred/

Victims’ lawyer Jordan Merson says that even the women who were older than 18 when they were allegedly abused by Epstein are still allowed to sue because the criminal case filed against the multi-millionaire financier opened up the statute of limitation to them.

“It is disconcerting that the Estate is attempting to use antiquated state laws to try to shirk its responsibilities to these sexual assault victims,” Merson said.

“While none of their arguments have a scintilla of merit, the fact they are even trying to do this confirms that further statute of limitation reform is needed by the NY State legislature.”

Really not a whole lot since the coronavirus took over but I found some reports. The Daily Mail is saying Epstein deliberately set traps for police by bringing in women in their 20's so he could say he was being harrassed. Really, I think it's illegal to traffick women at any age.

https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-8181221/Jeffrey-Epstein-tried-lay-trap-deliberately-hiring-women-20s-appeared-younger.html

The television station Lifetime is planning to release a 4-hour movie based on Epstein in the summer. Prince Andrew was asked to appear but reportedly will not agree to be interviewed for the documentary.

The Daily Mail on Sunday has, I guess, been publishing stories every week from a book written by a lawyer about the Epstein case. Here is Courtney Wild's story. I'll look around and see if I can find the others.

The Daily Beast has several interesting articles. This first one traces Epstein's Hollywood connections all the way back to Harvey Weinstein.

https://www.thedailybeast.com/jeffrey-epsteins-hollywood-pipeline-ran-straight-to-harvey-weinstein

They also discuss the book written by lawyer Brad Edwards entitled Relentless Pursuit. It details a lot about Epstein's relationship with the Clintons, among others including Michael Jackson.

https://www.thedailybeast.com/epstein-book-reveals-shocking-details-on-michael-jackson-prince-andrew-trump-clinton-and-the-cia

But the book also reveals new details about the famous and powerful people in Epstein’s world, including Donald Trump, former President Clinton and magician David Copperfield, and about Epstein’s alleged connections to the CIA:

Flight logs indicate Bill Clinton flew on Epstein’s private jet more than 20 times, including with the financier’s girlfriend and alleged madam, British socialite Ghislaine Maxwell. In September 2002, the trio (along with six Secret Service agents) traveled to Africa for a humanitarian trip that also included actors Chris Tucker and Kevin Spacey. Epstein’s alleged accomplices, Sarah Kellen and Nadia Marcinkova, and Chauntae Davies, a victim of Epstein, joined them. Edwards writes that eyewitnesses—including Davies, then 23—said Clinton and Epstein “exchanged somewhat crass jokes about women more than they discussed the solutions to major world problems.”

The Virgin Islands Attorney General has asked a judge to help resolve a dispute with Epstein's estate.

https://www.miamiherald.com/news/state/florida/article241842526.html

https://nypost.com/2020/04/08/us-virgin-islands-ag-asks-judge-for-help-in-jeffrey-epstein-estate-dispute/

The US Virgin Islands attorney general is asking a judge to help her office resolve a dispute with Jeffrey Epstein’s estate over a victims compensation fund.

AG Denise George said in a statement late Tuesday that the dead financier’s estate won’t budge on its insistence that Epstein’s sexual assault victims sign releases to protect other individuals who sexually abused them before they are allowed to collect money from the compensation fund.

George said this would amount to “a misuse of probate funds and an abuse of the probate process, solely to protect persons who are not a part of the Estate.”
