Haven't been in here for a couple weeks, but the Epstein investigation still goes on. I'll try and do some catching up here. A lot about Harvard.

A math professor has been put on leave for assisting Epstein for profit.

Professor Martin Nowak gave Jeffrey Epstein unparalleled access to one of the school’s programs, including his own office and phone line, in exchange for millions.

Harvard’s Faculty of Arts and Sciences placed Mathematics and Biology professor Martin A. Nowak on paid administrative leave Friday after a review into Harvard’s ties to Jeffrey E. Epstein found extensive and previously unreported contact between the professor and the convicted sex offender.

A University report found Epstein attempted to use Harvard and the Program for Evolutionary Dynamics, which Nowak directs, as a tool to rehabilitate his image following his 2008 conviction for solicitation of minors for prostitution. Epstein likely made more than 40 visits to PED’s offices at One Brattle Square between 2010 and 2018, according to the report, which also states that Nowak approved the posting of flattering and false descriptions of Epstein’s philanthropy and support of Harvard on the PED website.

Harvard has uncovered extensive gifts and visits by Epstein.

(Bloomberg) -- Convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein introduced Wall Street financier Leon Black to a pair of Harvard University professors whose work Black then supported with millions of dollars, a review by the college found.

The finding, part of a report Harvard released Friday, reflects the many interactions Epstein enjoyed with a who’s who of academic and corporate figures. In addition to Black, the founder and chief executive officer of Apollo Global Management Inc., one of the world’s largest private equity funds, that circle included former U.S. president Bill Clinton and the retail billionaire Leslie Wexner. They mostly distanced themselves from Epstein after his arrest last July on charges of sex-trafficking girls.

Epstein was a regular presence at Harvard even after his conviction on an earlier set of sex crime charges in 2008, the review found. He visited the Cambridge, Massachusetts, campus as recently as two years ago, one of more than 40 trips there between 2010 and 2018, often accompanied by young women who acted as his assistants, according to the report.

Epstein had his own office and phone line at Harvard.

https://thehill.com/homenews/news/495779-epstein-had-his-own-office-phone-line-at-harvard-even-after-his-2008-conviction

Harvard University admitted Friday that Jeffrey Epstein had his own office and phone line at the university and also made several visits there even after he was convicted in 2008 of soliciting sex from minors.

According to a new report from the university, Epstein, the disgraced financier who killed himself in jail last year while awaiting sex crimes charges, visited Harvard more than 40 times after his 2008 conviction and unveiled deep ties between him and the university, with which he had no official affiliation.

Prince Andrew has ignored 3 letters requesting him to cooperate with investigators in the Epstein case.

https://www.newsweek.com/prince-andrew-ignored-three-legal-letters-over-jeffrey-epstein-abuse-claims-lawyer-victims-says-1501705

https://www.vanityfair.com/style/2020/05/prince-andrew-david-boies-letters-epstein

In an interview with the Mail on Sunday, Boies said that Andrew has ignored multiple requests for cooperation. “We’ve made at least three formal written attempts sent to his address in London and also to his lawyers in the past few months,” he told the newspaper. In January, another lawyer representing some of Epstein’s victims, Gloria Allred, said she had followed similar tactics to get in touch with Andrew to no avail.

It’s now been more than five months since a disastrous BBC interview led to Andrew resigning from his role. In the interview, Andrew offered strange explanations for why he thought one Epstein victim, Virginia Roberts Giuffre, wasn’t telling the truth, and it ultimately raised more questions than it answered. When he resigned, he said in a statement that he would be willing to cooperate with authorities on matters related to Epstein cases.

In January, U.S. Attorney Geoffrey Berman said that Andrew had not cooperated with an FBI investigation into Epstein. A spokesperson for Berman later told the Telegraph that he had been in touch with Andrew’s lawyers, but that Andrew declined to submit an interview.

It looks like a major investigation went on at Harvard.

Until 2004, Trump and Epstein were regular party buddies; then Trump developed a dislike for Epstein, possibly over competing claims to Florida real estate, and banned him from Trump’s Mar-a-Lago resort, where Epstein had previously prowled for young women. Thereafter, Trump had little or nothing to do with Epstein.

The very next year, by contrast, Harvard University’s psychology department gave Epstein the prestigious title of visiting fellow — though he had no undergraduate or graduate degree, the usual prerequisites. Epstein got a second one-year appointment for the 2006-2007 school year, despite having done no academic work in 2005-2006.

His sponsor both times was the department chairman, Stephen Kosslyn (now retired), who took $200,000 in research-support donations from Epstein from 1998 to 2002 — and who overruled a subordinate’s objections to the sinecure for Epstein. Kosslyn went out of his way to flatter the “insightful” Epstein in a 2006 research paper.

This is just one of many revelations in a new report Harvard commissioned on its institutional interactions with the repulsive Epstein, who committed suicide last year while awaiting trial on federal human-trafficking charges.

The Attorney General of the Virgin Islands is questioning Epstein's estate.

https://www.nytimes.com/2020/04/27/business/jeffrey-epstein-estate-secrecy.html

Some of the same furtive techniques that Jeffrey Epstein employed in life are showing up in the litigation over dividing up the wealth he left behind when he died.

There are mysterious companies, lingering nondisclosure agreements and contractual clauses that some lawyers fear could protect anyone who took part in Mr. Epstein’s wrongdoing.

A Federal Judge in New York also said on Friday that they will release more of the sealed documents about Epstein and his associates. I can't wait for this.

https://lawandcrime.com/high-profile/judge-accelerates-process-for-unsealing-jeffrey-epstein-docs-naming-names-on-rolling-basis/

A federal judge in New York on Friday amended the protocol the court will follow in releasing a trove of documents concerning deceased pedophile Jeffrey Epstein. This will allow for documents that include the names of non-party individuals to be released on a rolling basis. The documents in question are part of a defamation dispute involving Epstein’s alleged madam Ghislaine Maxwell and alleged victim Virginia Roberts Giuffre.

Though Giuffre’s defamation case against Maxwell ended in 2015, Giuffre’s attorneys have fought a protracted legal battle seeking to unseal documents initially filed under seal that may contain allegations against other public figures from Epstein’s infamous elite social circle.

https://pagesix.com/2020/04/29/petition-to-remove-alleged-jeffrey-epstein-enabler-eileen-guggenheim-gains-steam/

One of Jeffrey Epstein’s alleged sex slaves has joined the fight to remove Eileen Guggenheim from the New York Academy of Art board after she allegedly enabled the billionaire pedophile.

Virginia Giuffre, who has long claimed that Epstein forced her to have sex with Prince Andrew when she was just 17, is backing a petition to have Guggenheim removed as the chair of the board of trustees.

This is a good article to read. How was this sex ring covered up in 2008?

https://www.floridabulldog.org/2020/04/judges-dissent-revives-mystery-jeffrey-epsteins-sex-ring/

Jeffrey Epstein didn’t inhabit the sordid world of sex trafficking all by himself.

He had plenty of company on his private jet called The Lolita Express, at his retreat in the U.S. Virgin Islands, his New Mexico ranch and his glitzy homes in Manhattan and Palm Beach. The teenage girls he lured with cash said they were forced to sexually service Epstein and his friends.

Before his legal troubles began in 2006, Epstein socialized with, among others, Donald Trump, Bill Clinton, Britain’s Prince Andrew and Alan Dershowitz, the Harvard law professor and celebrity advocate who would later defend President Trump in his impeachment trial. None of them has been charged in connection with Epstein.

But questions about Epstein’s sex ring survive him. This month, a high-ranking federal judge raised these questions by way of an expansive dissenting opinion that sheds new light on how a 2007 deal went down — the deal that has bedeviled all the players in the Epstein saga ever since.

Who joined Epstein in sexually exploiting the girls? Who works relentlessly to protect these shadowy figures?

"Villafana suggested strategies to conceal portions of the plea deal from the courts,” the dissent says. The agreement even states that it “will not be made part of any public record.”

The dissent also shows that Villafana strove to protect the identity of the invisible “potential co-conspirators” the deal shielded from prosecution.

https://nypost.com/2020/04/21/jeffrey-epstein-accuser-wants-to-document-opulence-of-his-properties/

A Jeffrey Epstein accuser wants access to two of the late multimillionaire’s properties, where she says she was sexually abused, so her lawyers can document the “opulence” of the locations, according to a new Manhattan federal filing.

“In order to properly represent Priscilla in this matter, counsel must have the ability to fully understand the physical characteristics of the properties in order to pursue evidence, develop testimony, and cross-examine defense witnesses,” wrote Priscilla’s lawyer Bradley Edwards, specifically requesting permission to take video, photos and measurements.

The labyrinthine design of the New York property and the isolation of the US Virgin Islands compound undercut the argument that Epstein’s victims were free to leave, the filing says.

Good to see you again. Things have been slower because of the virus but the case is moving on. It sounds like that second batch of documents will be released now. Harvard took a huge hit in the last couple weeks. One of Epstein's executors is due to court June 22.

Thanks! Gonna be checking in a lot more now! I need to catch up but it does seem like more is coming out.  Wouldn't it be great if Ghislanes attempt go sue for money results in her having to be put on the stand?

I hope she has to show up in court too. The estate is still frozen in the Virgin Islands. They will not release it.

For some of Harvard's top students, the links to Epstein are very upsetting. Dubin resigned from his CEO position at a hedge fund earlier this year.

https://www.thecrimson.com/article/2020/5/13/hks-dubin-fellows-wexner-ties/

When students are selected for the Dubin Graduate Fellowship for Emerging Leaders at the Harvard Kennedy School’s Center for Public Leadership, they make a commitment to effect positive change on the world.

Endowed by billionaire donor Glenn R. Dubin in 2010, the fellowship offers financial scholarships and a co-curricular program to a handful of students each year who have shown “strong character, academic excellence,” and “the ability to thrive and lead in the face of adversity,” according to the fellowship’s website.

“None of us expected to have a year filled with scandal and a year filled with this level of internal organizing,” Dubin fellow and Master in Public Policy candidate Rebecca M. Mer said. “We’re just a few of many, many students who are incredibly concerned and upset about HKS's ties to donors who are closely tied to Epstein.”

Dubin is not the only donor to the Center who had a relationship with Epstein. Billionaire Leslie H. Wexner, who also endows a fellowship at the center, engaged Epstein as a financial advisor beginning in the late 1980s.

Roughly a dozen Kennedy School students — including four current Dubin fellows — denounced the Kennedy School’s support for donors who had relationships with Epstein in interviews with The Crimson. Many also criticized the Kennedy School for not acknowledging those ties or for inadequately addressing students’ concerns.

Harvard is now going through a lot of internal investigations, like MIT did earlier. Many leading professors at MIT either resigned or were forced to resign because of their ties to Epstein. That's already documented in this thread. Most of this page is about Harvard. Ohio State was also looking into Epstein's ties through Leslie Wexner and Wexner's wife.

Since we did discuss in here about how Andrew's removal from the royal family affected Beatrice's wedding, I'll add that Beatrice will not inherit her father's Dukedom, but that will not be because of anything Andrew did but because a female can't inherit the York title. She will become a countess through her husband, who is descended from Italian royalty. The title of Duke of York will revert back to the monarchy on Andrew's passing. She will wed on May 29.

https://www.usatoday.com/story/entertainment/celebrities/2020/02/07/princess-beatrice-may-29-royal-wedding-set-after-prince-andrew-drama/4688750002/

https://www.btimesonline.com/articles/132100/20200515/princess-beatrice-title-york-wont-inherit-prince-andrew-dukedom-will.htm

According to Express UK, royal titles have "very complicated" old-aged rules and history. But, in the case of Princess Beatrice, she will not inherit her father's dukedom simply because "she is a woman."

As explained, British Monarch can only give dukedoms to male royals, especially once they get married. Accordingly, royal duchesses only inherit the title when they marry a royal duke.

https://abcnews.go.com/US/epstein-estate-failed-turn-documents-victims-attorneys/story?id=70757007

A lawyer for three women - each separately suing the estate - contends in court filings that the estate’s legal team has yet to produce a single document in response to voluminous pre-trial discovery requests and has engaged in “obstructionist conduct” that requires immediate attention from the court.

“Court intervention is required now so that [the estate] can begin reviewing and producing documents concerning the sex-trafficking conspiracy they are trying to keep secret,” wrote Sigrid McCawley, attorney for accuser Juliette Bryant, in one of three letters filed with the court over the past 10 days.

Bryant and other alleged victims are asking the estate to turn over a broad array of items they contend are relevant to their claims of Epstein’s alleged sexual abuse - including photographs, video and audio recordings from his airplanes and homes, financial records and communications with his alleged co-conspirators, employees and government officials that span a period of nearly two decades.

Ghislaine Maxwell can’t be questioned under oath about Jeffrey Epstein’s sex trafficking scheme because she is under criminal investigation, an attorney for the accused madam writes in new papers.

The argument by Maxwell’s attorney Laura Menninger is a rare acknowledgment of the risk facing the British socialite who is said to be in hiding.
