Ghislaine's siblings are deeply shocked that her bid for a new trial was denied. The judge ruled that the juror in question did not deliberately lie on the questionnaire and held no bias towards Ghislaine. So her conviction stands.

Prince Charles and Prince William both voiced their disapproval to the Queen about Prince Andrew being her escort at the memorial service for Prince Philip. The Queen was shocked by it.

The Queen has mobility issues which sparked some concern if she would attend her husband's memorial service. The Queen did with a walking stick in one hand and Prince Andrew assisting her.

There were rumors that the Duke of York insisted on being the Queen's escort to redeem his reputation and return to the royal folds. He allegedly believed that being seen with his mother will be a sign of endorsement.

 

However, royal commentator and biographer Robert Jobson denied the allegations. According to him, the Queen insisted to have Prince Andrew because he is the only one among her children without a partner.

 

"The Queen made her decision for her own reasons. She was not bullied into [it] by Andrew," Jobson tweeted after the Queen received an intense backlash for having Prince Andrew as her escort. "She asked him to accompany her, and if the Queen asks you to do something, it is not a request. The vitriol against Her Majesty is awful. I am not backing Andrew, but it was the Queen's call."

Ghislaine's sentencing hearing will be held on Tuesday, June 28. The prosecutors have recommended a sentence of 30-55 years. Maybe she will serve some real time for what she's done.

The filing comes a week before her expected sentencing on June 28. Maxwell, 60, was found guilty of five federal charges in December: sex trafficking of a minor, transporting a minor with the intent to engage in criminal sexual activity and three related counts of conspiracy.

However, she will only be sentenced on three counts after the judge presiding over her case agreed that two of the conspiracy counts she faced were repetitive.

The probation department recommended a 20-year sentence, below the sentencing guidelines.

Prosecutors are also requesting that the court impose a maximum allowable fine of $750,000.

“As part of a disturbing agreement with Jeffrey Epstein, Maxwell identified, groomed, and abused multiple victims, while she enjoyed a life of extraordinary luxury and privilege,” the prosecution wrote. “In her wake, Maxwell left her victims permanently scarred with emotional and psychological injuries. That damage can never be undone, but it can be accounted for in crafting a just sentence for Maxwell’s crimes.”

Murders do get less in the UK.  in the U.S. dependging on the degree, murders get 20 or more years.

Wow only 16.5 years on average.    There are so many variables in sentencing in the U.S. and murder is classified in so many ways, manslaughter, murder second degree, murder 1st degree, and all can have special circumstances.  However the minimun sentence for accessory to murder which is defined differently in every state is 10 years.   Depending on the state, 1st degree murder (premeditated) is life in prison or death.  (actual life in prison, no getting out for any reason except death)

16.5 years is the average prison time served, not the sentence.

A 'life sentence' can be...

The rest of your life, or 30 years or 25 years or 15 years.  It all depends on the circumstances, same as in the US.

Kill a judge, for example, and you'll probable die behind bars.

She was also facing a trial for perjury but those charges may have been dropped in January as she lost her bid for a retrial in this case and has been sentenced.

Don't forget their good buddy and partner in France, Jean Luc Brunnel, was found hanging in his Paris jail cell in February of 2022. I don't see Ghislaine doing this though. She'll be moved to a regular Federal prison now.
