Yeah, but it is good that she is spending her birthday in prison.

It's good that she is in prison regardless what day it is.

Well, I equate it with sympathy because it was mentioned.   She is not a little girl.  Birthdays are not as important to older women as they are to everyone else.

There was no sympathy involved. It's just a statement.

Hi Myles

There are plenty of people that have spent decades of birthdays in prison not sure why she would be special

The judge is trying to hussle up the jury supposedly over concerns about Covid. They are still deliberating.

https://edition.cnn.com/2021/12/28/us/ghislaine-maxwell-trial-tuesday/index.html

New York (CNN)The judge overseeing Ghislaine Maxwell's federal sex trafficking trial expressed her concern that Covid-19 could upend deliberations and requested the panel to stay later each day, but the jury Tuesday asked to go home at its regular time.

The 12-member panel has now deliberated for parts of five days -- about 32 hours -- and plans to resume Wednesday morning.
On Monday evening, Judge Alison Nathan asked the jurors to plan to stay until at least 6 p.m. going forward, an hour later than their usual time of departure.
She expressed further concern on Tuesday morning, citing the spread of the Omicron variant in New York City.
"We are very simply at a different place regarding the pandemic than we were only one week ago and we now face a high and escalating risk that jurors and/or trial participants may need to quarantine, thus disrupting trial (and) putting at risk our ability to complete this trial," she said.
But the jurors sent a note saying they were at a good place to stop for the day and they wanted to finish at 5 p.m.
"Our deliberations are moving along and we are making progress," the note also said, according to Nathan.
The judge told the attorneys outside of the jury's presence that if no verdict is reached Wednesday, she will tell jurors to clear their schedule to deliberate over the New Year's holiday weekend.
"Put simply, I conclude that proceeding this way is the best chance to both give the jury as much time as they need and to avoid a mistrial as a result of the Omicron variant," the judge said.

It was just something Susiece posted in a thread related to her.  As a "happy that she is in prison on her birthday".   No big deal.

The jury requested more witness testimony transcripts. The judge told them about working on New Years but said she doesn't want to pressure them. (that is what she did sounds like) The jury doesn't seem to care. That indicates they are taking this verdict seriously, which is good. There is no legal limit on how long a jury can deliberate.

Thats her in prison until she is on her way out.

IIRC, she's facing around 60-70 years. Hopefully her sentence will bring justice. Court TV is talking about how little about this ring was revealed in the trial because of all the wealthy, famous people involved. There was a lot more than Epstein and Maxwell involved here. They're discussing if Ghislaine will give up names now because she won't go down alone. Do you think the Feds are holding back because of the people who are involved? I think they did.

This is from the NBC link. I find it telling that there is no mention of Little St James Island. AKA Pedophile Island. There is a lot in this thread about how girls were taken there, their passports taken from them and had been chased, at times at gunpoint, if they attempted to leave. That would have gotten her convicted of the 2nd count also, which was enticing minors to travel for the purpose of sexual activity. With the testimony of Annie Farmer, I don't know how they reached a not guilty verdict on this one. If you've been reading this thread, there is a library of information that was never presented at this trial.

Prosecutors alleged there’s evidence Maxwell knew that the victims, including a 14-year-old, were below the age of consent and that she arranged travel for some between Epstein’s homes, including his estate in Palm Beach, Florida, his posh Manhattan townhouse and at other residences in Santa Fe, New Mexico, and London.

They need to make dishing all the dirt an offer for parole after 20 years.

Must be dished up within 12 months though.

This isn't justice. The amount of evidence that was buried in this trial, someone rich (probably many rich someones) ensured that only the most narrow evidence would be presented and now the media can report they have their pound of flesh and quietly bury everything else!

That's just my opinion, I'm glad she's guilty...

They buried a whole lot of evidence PA. There's no mention at all in any of the reports about Little St James, which was worse than Epstein's Palm Beach and Manhattan houses put together. It's wonderful to see Ghislaine convicted, but there are 100's of victims whose stories weren't told and 100's of influential and wealthy people who have been protected from scrutiny.

Notice the prosecutors never offered Maxwell a deal in exchange for names?

Now we know why.

Swept under the rug.  Nothing to see here.

Case closed.

Oh... "And I did not have sexual relations with that woman!" ------>

The wealthy people on those lists had likely groomed a new pimp before Epstein was cold so not much will change in the supply and demand but it is good that Ghislaine was convicted even if it's just a token act for justice
