You totally missed the point. You may as well give it up.

"Give up?"

Give up on what?

You haven't started,

In fact, your argument is a non-starter.

There are still people who think the earth is flat and they have documentation. Are you one of them?

No by anyone reputable they don't. Try again.

So the Messiah came during the time of Rome so therefore Rome is Babylon.

In Revelations it is.

Makes sense to me.   So why try to dig for Babylon?

Because it was a real place than used as a metaphor later.

There is no telling what Jeremiah was saying.   Prophecy is all about metaphors.

They were freed from Babylonian captivity and allowed to rebuild Jerusalem.

After ww2. Yes. But the only problem is the Temple location. Where are they going to rebuild it?

It's not a fantasy, but then you apparently don't know what a 'comparative statement' is either.

cormac

in this case it's a fantasy!!

Well yeah that's if you equate Jeremiah story of a messiah coming when Babylon is around. The Babylon you have spoke of has no Messiah. So you have a huge problem.

The Catholic Church that I know teaches Jesus already returned as long as he's in your heart.

I never heard that.    What year was that?

No sources?

No fluency in ancient Hebrew?

Ignoring what it plainly states in your own holy book?

Please, is there any reason we should take anything you say seriously?

Check the original Hebrew, pal.

The Bible was never “originally” written in Hebrew. It was, iirc, Greek and Aramaic.

Okay, I was just checking.     I'm sure the Messiah won;t come during the Persian empire though. That time has passed.

Ohhhhhhh, so you are Jewish then?

Awaiting the arrival of the Messiah?

The only thing I know about is Jesus said he will return when the Fig leaves sprout again.  My guess is another Temple. And it won't be in my life since a mosque is on that location.

Now. That's what a Jesuit Priest told me.

What Bible do you use

Okay, I'm in accord with that!

Jesus also said no man will know the date and time of his return. That’s a fairly definitive statement.

He also supposedly said that he would return 'before the current generation has passed'.

He seems to have missed that boat... Might as well await the second coming of David Koresh.
