Susanc241 Posted August 13, 2019 #3 Share Posted August 13, 2019 In my experience, the anaesthetist always asks what dentures, crowns or veneers you have. There should not be an opportunity to be allowed to forget to offer that information. 2

It's one of the first questions they ask prior to opening your mouth and taking a look at your existing teeth for chips, cracks, meanwhile checking the area at the back of your throat for the intubation procedure they'll be doing after you're out like a light. This poor old man may have been frightened to have surgery and totally missed the question or he could've been hard of hearing too. Quote While it is extremely rare for a patient to swallow their own false teeth, such cases have occurred before. A 2016 review documented 91 such incidents in 28 countries over a 15-year period. Who would've thought huh?
