That means nothing. Australian semi desert like any other deserts is seeing very hot temperatures during the day and freezing cold at night when occasional rain becomes snow.

I think the point is more that kangaroos aren't usually found frolicking around in the snow. (Seeing blankets of snow in Australia is pretty rare, you usually have to be in specific areas). Mainly the center of Australia is desert, with the east coast not being very desert-like at all. ^_^
