"Russia should be part of the Group of Seven again, President Donald Trump said on Tuesday, suggesting that President Barack Obama pushed the country out because he didn’t like that President Vladimir Putin had “outsmarted” him.

"Russia was suspended from what was then known as the G8 — representing the world’s most industrialized and developed economies — in 2014 after it illegally seized Crimea from Ukraine, but Putin and Trump have downplayed G7 leaders’ criticisms of Russia."

Ummmm....No.  All sanctions and other penalties should remain in effect and be amplified.  They took over a peice of another countries land and shot down a jet full of civilians.

True.  And at some point watching a Vietnam war documentary I realized Americas mistake was going to war with Vietnam instead of making them a major trading partner.  Make people wealthy and they tend to shy away from oligarchs and dictators.  God please don't let Helen read that.

The European Union imports 69% of its natural gas, according to the European Commission. The latest available data shows 37% of the imported gas comes from Russia, about 33% from Norway, and 11% from Algeria.

And while the European Union vowed to cut its dependency on Russian gas after the crisis in Ukraine, Russian exports to Europe have risen to record levels in the last two years.

Austrian imports of Russian gas nearly doubled in the first quarter of 2018, compared to last year.
