UM-Bot Posted August 27, 2019 #1 Share Posted August 27, 2019 If true, Dharam Pal Singh is not only the oldest ever marathon runner, but also the oldest man alive. https://www.unexplained-mysteries.com/news/330001/indian-marathon-runner-claims-to-be-119
spartan max2 Posted August 27, 2019 #2 Share Posted August 27, 2019 (edited) I'm going to say not true. He also has followers that do homeopathy. It seems like lying about his health and age would be beneficial for him. Edited August 27, 2019 by spartan max2 3

acute Posted August 27, 2019 #8 Share Posted August 27, 2019 (edited) In the context of all his healthy endeavours, homeopathy is just a drop in the ocean. Edited August 27, 2019 by acute
papageorge1 Posted August 27, 2019 #9 Share Posted August 27, 2019 I would tend to believe he is at a tremendous age for his fitness. Also I believe from other accounts that some things genuinely happen in the backwoods of India that western science would deny. I am one that thinks western science has a lot to learn. Yes, I am suggesting that is a serious possibility. I also suggest there is a man in India (Prahlad Jani) that hasn't ate or drank in 70 years as he is internally nourished by the goddess Amba through a hole in his pallet. I understand all such things would not accord with a spartan view of reality. Edited August 27, 2019 by papageorge1

If you believe him you should probably start buying his miracle spices. Edited August 27, 2019 by spartan max2

His personal testimony and various documents that seem to confirm his age including a passport, a voter ID card and a tax-identification card. And remember I never went beyond 'serious possibility' in my opinion. And I believe ancient Indian traditions exploit things western science doesn't understand yet. And the age doesn't have to be exactly 119 to be amazing. A few years off still makes the amazing point. As you mention the meter, I have been toying with the idea of upgrading its prestige with a more French sounding name. I think I like the Papameter pronounced more as the (pa-pomater). The long 'e' as in the English word 'meter' doesn't sound classy enough. I like the 'meter' pronounced as in thermometer.
