"Has beens"?  You're minimizing something as fundamentally destructive to our nation as a TOP officer in the legal system falsifying information to take out a duly elected president?  REALLY?  This nation is nearly on the rocks and because these guys aren't currently sitting in a government office they're not worth worrying with so much?  Incredible.  Friend, when the trust in our legal system is destroyed, it's never coming back.  Lawlessness is a creeping disease in the body politic and it undermines everything about our nation.

Falsifying information?  IG report says no such thing.  It says he unethically leaked memos.  Nothing he said was false according to the IG report.  He just shouldn't have been recording it or passing it to the press because it could be potentially classified.

It is a good point.  I believe in the rule of law.  I still have confidence in it.

When the legal system , the FBI, and the NSA were investigating President Trump did you trust them? Now when the situation turns and they investigate Comey or Clapper or Obama will you suddenly trust them again?

Has -beens they are.  They have very little affect on public opinion and no affect on government or public policy.  That doesn't mean they should not be investigated, but until such time as charges are brought and convictions secured, they are still innocent of the slanders you put against them.  Comey in fact has been investigated.  You want more, I can understand that. Some Democrats were left hollow by the Mueller Report.  Maybe there will be an Obama report or a Clapper report or Clinton report or a further Comey report.  If it is fair and equal justice then let it proceed.  Epstein is dead, but a case against him is still active.   Let justice prevail.

A justice system that is robust and can be trusted does not need active interference from the President.  If the President needs to intervene, then I would argue there IS something wrong with the legal system.

No doubt a future president will bust open secret Trump White House files and tax returns and secret recordings of conversations with Putin, and Kushner tax returns and secret recording with MBS, Trump children business dealings and whatever  else it deems necessary to pursue an investigation.  Will that be justice?

When  a justice system is pure and treats everybody the same, it earns trust.  When it is used as an instrument of personal retribution, it becomes a mockery.  I am not sure what is going on here and which of those goals are being pursued..

Trump seems to be covering all his bases, just in case Barr isn't up to it.  We've already seen Horowitz is knee deep in the swamp.

Trump is covering his bases, that is for his own personal protection, to save his own skin; not for anything as esoteric as to strengthen the rule of law and restore faith in the legal system.

And now Horowitz is thrown aside because he did not come up with a finding you wanted?  Why is that different from head-in -the sand Democrats who refuse to accept Mueller report conclusions?
