A simple Google search shows it was widely reported in the media so what point are you trying to make?

It might not have been on accepted conservative media.

I've heard about this guy.  He turned himself in and plead not guilty.  There is video of his shooting and his claims are that he was shooting in self defense.  Unfortunately it was a crowed stadium and there was a lot of collateral damage.  (The police say he was shooting at random.)

While I don't agree with the extremity of NRA being a "domestic terror organization" I am always amazed at the response to the mentioning of gun control or even somebody lightly criticizing 2A being "We'll shoot you!" and people thinking this is a level headed response.

You aren't being totally honest with this response.  The typical response from those who support and state they will defend 2A is "we'll resist if you try to take them from us".  There may have been a 2A supporter or NRA member that has gone of the deep end and slaughtered a bunch of people but I've never heard of one.  Even THEN, it would not make millions of others guilty by association.

We are portrayed as selfish morons with a bloodlust and some kind of near sexual attraction to firearms and like most things dreamt up by the Progressive movement, it's pure BS.

They also seem to forget or not be aware of the millions of Progressive voters who live and die by this issue as well.  This one isn't going down by "name and shame" or boycott.  THIS one the Left will have to EARN.

It's not PURE BS. Lumping everyone into that category is extreme for sure. But it is astonishing how quickly the conversation usually turns to a supporter puffing out their chest and alluding to shooting somebody. It doesn't help those that are sincere and responsible with their ownership. That's what I was trying to point out although I'll grant rather clumsily.

Right wing white men. You know, like the ones with nra stickers on their car windows.

Both of the teams competing that night were from predominantly black schools and that also does not fit the narrative.  Not a single evil white guy to be found.  It fits the Chicago-style narrative perfectly, though.  It's like those kids don't matter just because of their skin color.  And they scream racism at everyone around them...

Oh, so there is no excuse for conservatives to have not heard it.  That's even worse.

Who said they hadn't heard of it? Aztec was even the first one to mention it.

The news is only 10% of what's true, the other 90% is propaganda. No matter which side you are on.

Well yeah.  The only reason why we are talking about Deangelo Parnell is because Aztek made the claim that no one is hearing about it and it is being covered up.  And Then posted about how they were both black and didn't fit the narrative- hinting that was the reason for the "media cover up".

With the links Robotic and you have just posted, it's pretty obvious that it was well reported.  Yet here we are with people claiming they, "Never heard of it."  It seems to me that they are being willfully ignorant just to support an agenda.

In retrospect saying they are being willfully ignorant to promote an agenda might be a little harsh.  They could be posting about a subject that they have not read up on or familiarized themselves with.  I know a lot of posters here tend to post a response off the last posting instead of the context of the entire thread.  Opinions form instantly but an informed response takes some research.

What an asinine statement. Are you even aware of what the NRA does and stands for? Or are you only able to regurgitate liberal talking points?

Are you aware?

I've owned firearms since I was 12 or 13.  I took hunter safety classes and marksmanship classes from the NRA 40 years ago.  It is hard to recognize them today.  They do staunchly support the Second Amendment  but sometimes it seems like a way to create a need for their primary purpose, the marketing arm of the large firearms companies.

2A  isn't enough.  so they have stoked the fear that many have in our society and also built on  the pornographic side of the gun culture.  An accurate hunting rifle or a good shotgun is a work of technology and of  art.  I wish I could afford some of the beautiful stocks I have seen.   A good handmade knife is also a work of craft and art and every bit as utilitarian and beautiful.

But to obsess and slather over weapons in almost sexual desire but to NEED  the bigger better and always more goes  a bit beyond the healthy range of interest.  It is just a tool, and you should have a useful tool, but it is not an embodiment of your manhood or prowess.  It is just a tool.   My opinion is that the NRA participates in the pornographic side of firearms because it makes them a lot of money.

Now SF wants to make them a terrorist organization.  I am not sure how they stretch that far, but the organized  NRA has become a totally self-serving organization. Members still do some worthwhile things, but they do those on their own.

You might be healthier if you stop eating Rice-A-Roni, but I am not going to stop buying electronic products because the chips are made in California or insist that the armed forces not use the defense industry corporations based in California.

I think I'll just sit back and carry on with my life while the anti-gun and the 2A  drama queens run up the O My God flagpoles.  It will not change anything substantially.

Interesting headline.. San Fran hasn't actually declared/named anything yet. The Board of Supervisors created a resolution that needs to pass through the Mayors office and measure approved or vetoed. Worth noting is it was adopted with ayes by all 11 supervisors. Time will tell if the motion does pass through the Mayor or not. The Mayor has 10 days to veto if they are going to do so, otherwise the resolution will be considered approved. 10 days would be the 13th.

Lol. Well I have to admit that is good description - the pornographic side of the gun culture. But you know, if we are to be totally honest, I think it's like anything we love over here in the U.S. because of our capitalism and materialism, which go hand in hand, whether it's cars to muscle cars, trucks to monster trucks, electronics, clothes, etc. So I don't see the obsession over guns as the only thing as pornographic.

And I don't really care what California says are declares, because even if they do succeed with making the NRA a terrorist organization, which is about the stupidest political game I've ever seen and really doesn't deserve enough to pay attention to, another rifle/gun organization will just rise in it's place, because it's really the arms and ammunition corporations that have their hand in the political arena. Just like oil companies, just like car manufacture companies, tobacco companies or any other companies. It's really them and people don't seem to get that.

Thanks Gunn.  I might suggest another word not carrying so much baggage,  Too many kids call their parents Nazis because they make them do their homework before playing video games.  It gets used too much by both the left and right for far less consequential reasons than the original.

Lol. That was funny, but scary at the same time.  And that's not exactlly what you'd call a pornographic or obsession with guns. That is more like just plain stupidity and a bunch of jackasses (mostly the gun instructors/owners themselves) in different countries, playing dangerous jokes on unsuspecting people who have never been properly trained on how to shoot a powerful weapon, as in - "Here! Just shoot this! Ha-ha-ha!.

No, see, what we mean by pornographic is when somebody has an unbelievable collection of rifles and guns stored in their closets or safes, and/or is always looking for ways to modify their guns, whether it be modifying the sights or gun stocks, like it's a hobby. It's like rich guys like Jay Leno who own hundreds of cars and works on them constantly trying to tweak them. His obsession with cars is pretty much pornographic, he loves them!

Well personally, I usually go with anti-gun totalitarians myself. Because I think it's just only about getting the guns out of American hands for some people and not actual lives taken away by the guns; as in taking advantage of a tragedy and not giving a care about anything else. Anyway, yeah I just used the NAZI one because the label has been around for years.

The basic common sense level of training and background checks to prevent situations like in the video is what the NRA vehemently opposes.  It's like they are actively encouraging people to do stupid things with guns.  I get the feeling that is why San Fransisco is trying to slap a terrorist organization label on them.

Do you have any links illustrating the NRA opposing background checks ? :)
