You might get that FLASH of genius, that gives you the kernel of an idea, but unless you were of a mind that dealt with such problems, like an engineer, I seriously doubt that you would have intimate knowledge of every step or equation.

Although it is claimed to occur when someone is writing a novel. "It came to me in a rush, and the story practically wrote itself", is often heard from authors.

However, I tend to believe it was the creative intelligence of the writer, rather than some cosmic muse, that let them create their works.

Yes. We are capable of great leaps of creativity. But when it comes to the glorious Quran. There is no other. Yes.

Quran (Pickthall)

"105.001 Hast thou not seen how thy Lord dealt with the owners of the Elephant ?
105.002 Did He not bring their stratagem to naught,
105.003 And send against them swarms of flying creatures,
105.004 Which pelted them with stones of baked clay,
105.005 And made them like green crops devoured (by cattle)?"

You know preaching isn't allowed, right?

So at what point did the guy who wouldn't stop talking about the holy dopamine ghost become a preacher for the quran? That's what I want to know. I feel like I lost a friend.

I don't recall your voicing any concerns about those kinds of explanations, in the past ? I suppose now that this bloke has broken ranks, he is fair game !

I suspect the humour is no change at all.

While others may be confused about your post...I am not!  Just sayin'

What the Great Lord of the Brain Dope is actually saying is:

Quote

We are capable of great leaps of creativity. But when it comes to the glorious Quran.

Really...owners of the Elephant...swarms of flying creatures pelting the enemies of Islam with stones of baked clay?

Making them like crops devoured by cattle?

Obviously...correct me if I am wrong (I know you will)....

What the King of Mind Dope is saying is that the Creativity of the Quran is quite amazing...NOT ...that it is correct or that he supports it...just that the creativity is amazing.

You recall poorly. I've often taken Davros to task about the shallowness of the "in the end, it's always dopamine (except when it's serotonin)" explanation-substitute for human behavior and belief.

You seem not to have grasped that I doubt that he really has "broken ranks."

Regardless,

No poster is "fair game" around here. Ideas are, but not people.

Needless to say, I can't be bothered trawling through his endless "holy dopamine ghost" phase, which was like so much of the dogmatic assertion making around here, more about convincing himself, in the negative, than any real science. He does appear to now contradict that previous mindset, but I'd be happy to hear why you might think otherwise.

He seemingly has fallen away from the "faith", that facile explanations can capture such "bottomless" subjects.

Davos is doing what Rush Limbaugh often does...

...illustrating absurdity...with absurdity!

Note how everything he says ends with something along the lines of:  How Glorious is the Quran...Yes.

completely out of character and completely absurd...so...yeah...illustrating absurdity with absurdity!

The best way to provoke responses from people is have them disagree with you vehemently.  Otherwise it is just an echo chamber effect.

I should get a Gold Star here.  Yes.

Well, buddy, since this thread is 10 days old, when do you suppose he is going to change hats, and revert to his old persona ?

When he stops getting a dopamine rush from pretending to praise the Koran.

The concern seems to be that maybe he has defected from the good guys to the bad guys, and a cover story needs to be invented (i.e. he is just joking) to explain it. Maybe he really has "found" religion, which I don't know is good or bad. But one thing I do know, no-one here can really be said to be "secure" materialists/atheists. One can wonder which is more annoying, the dopamine clap-trap, or the fawning adulation of the Quran
