Some 350 million years ago, a space boulder 400 meters across entered the Earth's atmosphere and struck an area near the future site of Osceola, Weaubleau and Bolivar in the Missouri, according to researchers. Southwest Missouri State University geologist Kevin Evans recently started looking into the possibility of a meteorite crater.
