Yet, look what happened to their great experiment, unable to compete, held together only by the peace of the gun, shattered irreparably by nothing more than the winds of change. One even lost their business and much more after being diagnosed with brain cancer. Accessible and affordable health care is not socialism, it's basic humanity and common sense. Social remedial programs are, in practice, not necessarily bad things--but they are not the answer for everything. They need a strong capitalist infrastructure from which to draw wealth to survive. There is no Socialism in the West, only Socialist Party's that adopt some of their common and social values such as Medicare/Universal Healthcare and other such things that benefit the wide community. Pure Socialism can't exist under Capitalism. The Soviet Union was a Communist Regime but more like a mono Party dictatorship.
