"Extinction Rebellion activists have sprayed the Treasury with gallons of fake blood in its latest climate change protest stunt.

"Members of the group parked a fire engine outside the building on Horse Guards Road in Westminster before holding the hose to face the building and firing the red liquid at it.

"The group said it had sprayed 1,800 litres of the fake blood, understood to be water coloured with beetroot juice or food dye, on Thursday morning."

Police have made seven arrests after climate protesters from Extinction Rebellion UK smashed windows at Barclays’ headquarters in Canary Wharf this morning.

A spokesperson for the Metropolitan Police said seven women had been arrested on suspicion of criminal damage and taken into custody at an east London police station following the protest.

Extinction Rebellion claimed responsibility for the protest on its website which it said was motivated by Barclays’ funding of fossil fuels.

Every time they do some stunt like this, the authorities should send the bills for the cleanup or the bill for the police overtime to Roger Hallam (founder) & then promptly jail him when he refuses to pay, you know, like they do if you refuse to pay the tv licence.

If they broke windows, then it was NOT a 'protest'. It was - at best - disorderly conduct, if not a mini-riot.
