Again, how can you support this?

His devotion and qualifications say otherwise. On what basis should they be dismissed?

Brains do some wonderful things for us, quite frequently.

I haven't seen much evidence of that from you.

That a  yokel from the backblocks of NSW knows more about it than Sean, says they are running a very different regime in the beyond.

He could start by keeping his assumptions down to a bare minimum.

Just by his statement, sounds like he is devoted to his own ego before anything.

He has gone the early crow, without the data. Bad science.

I grew up in Sydney but I agree with the other part.

The real point though, is what do you lose by leaving such things, as a possibility ? I guess if you have a brain like a Commodore 64 with very limited storage, one has to cull that which takes up space.

Why, it is supported in depth at the link.

Did you not agree a couple pages back it is wrong to blindly dismiss? He provides a well thought out completely supported argument. You would be better off saying what you disagree with rather than what seems more like hate fuelled blind dismissal.

What is incorrect, or even misleading in the presentation he offers outlining the sciences that refute life after death?

Remember, this current discussion is because you said science has no say in this matter, but as you can see, it firmly does.

There's only a problem if you think these phenomena are like normal phenomena, and can be regarded as open to the same kind of investigation and detection. That appears to be a bad assumption.

Jeez, what a waste of a handwave.  You didn't address a single thing I said.  It seems all logic, all common sense, all thinking of any nature whatsoever, gets thrown out the window.

Next time, how about you actually address what I said?

If you can explain how they make that statement go ahead,it's so incorrect it is laughable

Common sense isn't ignored at all, but when you have witnessed enough of this stuff, common sense is to realize it isn't "minds playing tricks" BS.

Relax charlie, we are all friends here I think ?  I reiterate, nothing is lost by leaving such matters as undecided, in your own mind.

Simply put

The mind is the brain

The brain is made of atoms

We know how atoms work

The brain is extremely complex

There is no way in nature to maintain that complexity.

There's nothing laughable about it. It's elegantly simple.

I doubt you would, or could say that considering photography. He knows the subject better than anyone on the forum. We all have certain strengths, excepting that certain poster. Why do you say his conclusion is incorrect in this instance?

You have said a lot of things about people with evidence. I'd rather see you discuss the evidence. That's where the information these people are offering comes from. You are shooting messengers.

It's just a mania they have, that drives them to want a nailed-down world view, one where humans are the big fish in the pond, that might explain the widely varied things the Dr No types don't like being regarded as real, like UFO's for example. No God, no UFOs, just humans at the top of the heap.
