Yeah, so sad. The strong survive and the weak unfortunately get crushed. Way of the world.

Not to mention, it's always the poor Kurds copping it. :(

Poor Kurds, they are getting it from all sides. Where is the "Virtuous" America of long ago, protectors of the weak and downtrodden?

You mean like in the 40s and how we helped the Jews who were being gassed by the millions?  THAT America?

No, they're not RG.  Half of them are far too busy plotting a plan to impeach the current president and the other half are hanging on by the skin of their teeth.  I can't remember the US ever being in this bad a state.  It's pretty scary.

edit: Oh my bad, I really should go to sleep I'm back in the US again instead of the Middle East in this post. :P

No. It was only bound to happen once your president gave them the go ahead.

But of course you'll claim its coincidence that Trump spoke to Erdoğan, withdrew his troops and 2 days later Turkey attacks.

The one that let its allies bleed for years to boost its own position?

Oh, seems that one is still around.

This sounds like a cheaply produced series on some satellite TV network: When Erdogan Attacks

You don't need to be reminded about how Jewish refugees were turned away from the USA prior to WWII (see MS St. Louis); or how that involvement began a good couple of years later than it did for the UK and Commonwealth, do you?

Only in your imagination.

The only thing the U.S. ever protected was it's financial interests.

And another Kissinger quote, but this one specifically about the Kurds.

"Promise them anything, give them what they get, and f… them if they can’t take a joke"

I cant figure out why people seem to be so shocked about what Trump has done, this is the 8th time America has betrayed the Kurds in the past century, with most of the betrayals occuring in the past half century.  Due to various geostrategic reasons, which often in geostrategic reasons are not morally or ethically correct, the Kurds do make better pawns then allies sadly.

I'm sorry but you must have me confused with someone else @Setton LOL

I have a Prime Minister.  His name is Scott Morrison.  I will forgive you entirely if you don't know who he is.  He's not only newly elected, extremely forgettable, but also a total pleb at politics.  We sure can choose em here!

Well the poor Europeans are rather fold of their open borders.  Lets hope it's not a repeat of what happened to that beautiful country of Sweden. :(

Australia's Light Horse already took the surrender of the Ottoman Empire once.  Do they have to do it again?
