Biden campaign blasts NY Times for coverage of corruption claims against son Hunter

Joe Biden’s 2020 presidential campaign sent a letter to the New York Times blasting the newspaper for its coverage of corruption allegations against the former vice president and his son Hunter. The missive, written by campaign spokeswoman Kate Bedingfield to executive editor Dean Baquet, took issue with an op-ed written by conservative author Peter Schweizer, who argued that corruption laws should be strengthened in the wake of Biden’s son taking a seat on a Ukrainian natural gas company while his dad was in the Obama administration. He described the temptation of “self-dealing” by the “politically connected class” and called Congress to “conduct an inquiry” into whether Hunter did anything illegal.

Not A Rockstar

It was the same during the hacking drama of the dem's server and all the Real Nasty that came out. Not one showed any embarrassment or sense of shame. They only screamed high and low about the hacker.

Hmmm...some rather bad "optics" for Sloppy Joe and the Pelosi-Schiff gang:

CIA "Whistleblower" Said To Have Worked With Biden When He Was VP

Quote

And now, as The Washington Examiner reports, according to intelligence officers and former White House officials, the 2020 Democratic candidate with whom the CIA whistleblower had a "professional" tie is Joe Biden.

So, to clarify, a registered Democrat on the CIA payroll, who previously worked with VP Joe Biden, went to Adam Schiff's committee, who referred him to a Democratic operative attorney, who helped him file a whistleblower complaint about Trump attempting to uncover Biden's corruption, on a form which was altered to allow second-hand information

He'll most likely be put out to pasture or be forced to spend time with his family.

On the other hand, the rumourmill says, Hillary will apparently be announcing her candidacy on the 15th of this month......I wonder if it will come true. I'm kind of excited!

I should correct my original statement. Biden’s actions as VP should be thoroughly investigated to determine if he used taxpayer dollars to influence the Ukrainian government which resulted in the enrichment of his family or other non elected associates.

This does not hinge on results of any investigation or prosecution of anyone else and the same goes for trump.

These are two separate unrelated questions concerning unethical behavior by our elected officials. I have little doubt both are guilty.

The president had every right to look into the matter concerning Biden but should have ordered it before Biden declared his intention to run against trump in the next election. For trump to order this investigation against a democratic candidate is clearly unethical and must be addressed.

Didn't the Obama FBI open an investigation on then-candidate Trump using FISA warrants to spy on Trump's campaign associates and all of their connections?

Why is it wrong only if Trump orders it?

Eta:  Also, it's being speculated that HRC may soon announce her candidacy...perhaps to try to shield herself from the same type of accusations now being thrown at Biden (and worse).  Should Trump be prevented from ordering her investigation if she manages to make her "announcement" first?

As I don't know your law whatsoever, especially to do with politics - is there any truth to it, if Hillary Clinton announces she's going to run for the 2020 election, that once she is considered a candidate, neither the president nor anyone else, can do an investigation into her alleged criminal antics?

No, there is no such law.  People will claim they are being persecuted as a "political adversary", but it's a claim that has no legal basis.

Okay how about this. The actions of the president ordering Biden to be investigated can be interpreted as being unethical and an investigation to determine if it was should be undertaken. The real question that this investigation should answer, is investigating Biden warranted or is this a witch-hunt.

My personal opinion is Biden is almost certainly guilty and therefore an investigation is warranted but if trump is guilty of coercing the Ukrainian government in order to get their help he must also be punished. Even though it doesn’t seem there was coercion during the call it can be convincingly argued that the coercive conditions were already in place before the call was made.

IMO trump is in serious trouble and may well be impeached.

That's certainly how it's being portrayed in the media, but I'm not so sure they aren't sexing things up a bit.  Impeachment proceedings are a far more odious prospect for the Democrats than for Trump...it's not even close.

Also, and this is just my opinion, it's likely the phone conversation between Trump and Zelenskiy will soon be all but forgotten because bigger stories are gathering on deck.

Oh ok, thanks for that.  These pollies always seems to find ways around things that get them out of any trouble.  It's rather disheartening sometimes. :(

The Trumpster calls out the Biden's and Ilhan "The Clown Princess" Omar :santa:

'Hunter you are a loser, why did you get $1.5 billion dollars?' Trump goes after the 'crooked' Bidens

Donald Trump raged against Joe and Hunter Biden at his first campaign rally since the impeachment inquiry began, calling the former vice president an a** kisser and describing his son as a 'loser.' 'He was only a good Vice President because he understood how to kiss Barack Obama's a**,' he said of Biden as the crowd cheered and roared. 'Congresswoman Omar is an American hating socialist,' he said of the Democratic lawmaker, who is often a target of his rage.

:w00t:

A black t-shirt with a white 'where's Hunter' logo is for sale for $25 on the Trump / Pence campaign website

The president also turned his fury on his rival Joe Biden. 'And your father was never considered smart. He was never considered a good senator,' he said

Trump is all over this Biden thing -  I thought Biden would've been out now as being in the running as a Candidate.  That Ukrainian incident definitely did not cast him in a good light as a potential leader. The whole thing was quite damning whichever way you looked at it.  :unsure2:

I found another goodie for Joe - him and Trump are so meme-worthy! LOL I just love it!

Whistleblower may have worked with Joe Biden in White House

The whistleblower who touched off an impeachment inquiry into President Trump over his relationship with the president of Ukraine may have worked with Joe Biden while he was vice president, a report said. A retired CIA officer told the Washington Examiner that, given what is known about the whistleblower’s work in the executive branch, he “no doubt” worked with Biden. “From everything we know about the whistleblower and his work in the executive branch then, there is absolutely no doubt he would have been working with Biden when he was vice president,” the officer, who was not identified by the newspaper, said.

As happens with trump countless times, they all do it however,

In not into politics and my dad rip 2014 89, always said he felt all politicians were crooks,

But what ive never seen before or just didn't notice was any other cadidate/potus ever who could have a more loyle following than trump, no matter what he does its over looked, downplayed or blamed on someone else, hes always the big victim he can do no wrong in the eyes of some its like a cult , has any trumper from 2016 stopped supporting him?

I had no clue Hillary might run again, I thought Biden was gonna be the one against trump, so while i believe trump will beat either one of them, man watching him up against Hillary again would be fun....

It's not about Donald J. Trump. It's the ideology behind the populist Western American president. Today we call ourselves Trumpers, after the 2024 election it'll be a new name.

The plot thickens  To be fair I tried to find a report on this on CNN and the Washington Post but all I could find was 27 million 842 thousand 949 articles with the same headline: Trump Bad Democrat Good.

Is the Whistle blower Tied to Biden and did Joe Join the Coup

Well. This is certainly getting interesting. Uh-oh. So by the whistleblower’s two lawyers own words we learn that their client — their client identified by the New York Times as a CIA official — “has spent their entire government career in apolitical, civil servant positions in the Executive Branch” serving “elected officials.” There are only two elected officials in the “Executive Branch.” That would be, of course, the president and vice president of the United States. The charge now is that the whistleblower has ties to a current candidate in the 2020 race — and quite obviously there is only one current Democrat candidate who has been one of the two elected officials in the executive branch of government: former Vice President Joe Biden.

Just like the republicans.  Get it, pot calling the kettle black.  This is almost word for word the same conversation about Trump's relative or minions making deals with the Russians last year.

Hunter Biden steps down from board of Chinese equity firm after Trump accused him of corruption over claims he made $1.5BN in Beijing during his father's time in office

Hunter Biden has stepped down from his post on the board of a Chinese-backed private equity company in the midst of President Donald Trump's allegations of corruption in China and Ukraine. Biden, 49, announced he will resign at the end of the month from the board of BHR (Shanghai) Equity Investment Fund Management Company, which is backed by several Chinese state-owned companies, in a statement released Sunday. Biden's foreign business interests, particularly in Ukraine, are currently at the center of Donald Trump's impeachment scandal.
