aztek Posted October 16, 2019 #1 Share Posted October 16, 2019 https://www.yahoo.com/finance/news/dutch-farmers-protest-efforts-cut-092126629.html Quote THE HAGUE, Netherlands (AP) — Thousands of Dutch farmers, many driving tractors, poured into The Hague on Wednesday to protest government moves to rein in carbon and nitrogen emissions to better fight climate change. It was the second major protest this month by Dutch farmers who say the government is unfairly targeting them as it seeks to slash emissions. "They blame agriculture for everything at the moment because of nitrogen emissions," said farmer Jans de Wilcher. He added that "we as a sector store far more nitrogen than we produce. So we are actually helping the Dutch problem rather than making it worse — so why do we get the blame?"

Hmmm... my guess is it's a lack of respect for people they think of as ignorant and unimportant. And powerless...did I leave out, powerless? No surprise, really. It's what governments do best. 2

Michelle Posted October 16, 2019 #4 Share Posted October 16, 2019 If people didn't promote veganism the farmers wouldn't have to emit so much emissions. People don't understand what it takes to get veggies on their tables.
