Does this mean that you think that the Labour supporters who wanted to leave were stupid and changed their vote from labour to tory as in T.Blair's area where he won by over 25k and the vote is now over a 4k Con majority . Stop whinging and face the facts mate .

Honestly? Yes.

I think anyone from a low income or working class background who votes Conservative is an idiot. As are adults who can't use punctuation.

So Con got 364 seats.

From what I gather you need 325 for a majority.

So Cons have 39 seats worth if wiggle room for trying to pass Brexit?

Is it assumed that every other party is in the remainder group?

Its 326 seats to get a majority

With one seat left to declare the Tories have 364 and the combined total of all other parties is 285 meaning a majority of at least 79 but maybe 81 or 77 depending on how that last seat goes.

I suspect thats enough for a Hard-Brexit should we need it.

You honestly can't call working class people idiots because they want to live in a Country governed by British people and not some foreigners dictating how you will live by their rules .You LOST mate ,end of story.  But if you want to live in the E.U. why don't you move to that area .

We have waited 30 years for and finally the light is at the end of the tunnel. Brexit here we come!

Corbyn made three mistakes:

1. He is too socialist - While that is very popular with a section of UK society it is too polarising for the rest.

2. 2nd referendum with no Hard-Brexit - He violated Democracy by wanting a 2nd referendum, and wanted to stitch-up that referendum too so people couldn't have a Hard-Brexit option.

3. Frequent and persistent lying during his campaign - Unrealistic spending claims that the Labour Party would never be able to deliver on combined with persistent lying about the NHS being on the table in a UK/US trade deal.

We both know that some of the 8 DUP MPs might be tempted to vote for the Boris Brexit. I suspect quite a few MPs in the Labour Party and Liberal Democrats might too.

Have you heard the arrogance of Corbyn claiming he lost because of the media? He lost because he is a far-left Communist lunatic living in a idealistic fantasy world instead of reality. A lying and manipulative scumbag. Someone who for the last year has actively blocked and subverted what the majority of the population want - Brexit.

It was all going OK until the Germans and French decided to go political , then the fertilizer hit the windmill , now we shall see how many other E.U. Countries decide that they've had enough of Brussels and the E.U.  becoming a dictator state , the cracks in their union are becoming wider . the Germans are teetering on recession and the French have violent unrest and strikes .

I think that Corbyn has the beginning of a serious mental problem ,probably dementia ,as he can't make up his mind on any subject .

still not all bad...at least Corbyn didnt get in with his band of clowns....

I feared that outcome.  I have always admired and respected Britain and I was worried that you guys had gone through some bizarre changes just like we have over here.  At least it didn't go THAT wrong :)

I hope that now the people's voice will not only be heard but OBEYED!

What do you mean?

Trump is your Boris. Trump gets things done and your economy is doing wonderful. Your media are constantly lying about him  so why on Earth would Americans trust their polls on him?

Trump will win the impeachment vote and a 2nd term easy, just watch.

When we see the media and politicians lying it used to worry me. But the people arent stupid and dont trust those who constantly lie and manipulate. They dont vote for people they dont trust as our General Election has just shown.

A historic result, well done Boris and his team :tu: Dominic Cummings will now be known as a political strategy legend ;)

As you might expect the EU is not happy at the loss of their last chance at reversing the brexit.

'Bad news for Europe' - EU reluctantly congratulates Johnson.

EU leaders welcomed Boris Johnson’s election triumph  but the Czech prime minister warned it was ‘bad news for Europe’. “He won and now they will leave, unfortunately. That is bad news for Europe,” he said as he arrived for a second day of an EU summit in Brussels."

https://uk.reuters.com/article/uk-britain-election-eu/bad-news-for-europe-eu-reluctantly-congratulates-johnson-idUKKBN1YH0QY?rpc=401&

And home grown remainers -

The dream is dead: Johnson election triumph breaks UK 'remainer' hearts.

Gina Miller, a prominent campaigner for a second referendum, was among those accepted there was no way back.

“There is certainly not another vote,” she said, adding that Brexit would “get passed as an act of parliament, it will then be ratified as an international treaty and we will be out.”

https://uk.reuters.com/article/uk-britain-election-remain/the-dream-is-dead-johnson-election-triumph-breaks-uk-remainer-hearts-idUKKBN1YH0B0

More positive news -

The outcome of the British election will help a fresh drive next week to restore devolved government in Northern Ireland

Both the DUP - hardline supporters of the union with Britain - and the Irish nationalist Sinn Fein lost ground in the share of the vote in Thursday’s election to what Coveney called “middle ground” parties more supportive of dialogue.

“We have seen a real surge in middle ground politics and I think that says a lot about the anxiety and impatience to get Stormont (Assembly) back up and functioning again,”

The middle ground surge cost the DUP two of the 10 seats it had won in 2017, while Sinn Fein saw a near 7% decline in its overall share of the vote and marked the biggest decline for any party in the province.

Any predictions on that?

How will that happen?

The Tories are not in need of SNP backing.

No, but I can and will call them idiots for voting for a government that will put literally anyone else before them.

The first two yes, but 3? These are the people that just voted in the Tories.

Pretty clear honesty wasn't a deciding factor.

SNP have not stopped wanting independence even after their last IndyRef vote. SNP has said it would not take illegal actions to have a vote and only ask UK for another through proper channels.

Boris made it clear that Conservatives do not accept SNP argument that they now need another vote after the once in a generation vote given previously.

So SNP can bang the indyRef drum but it will go nowhere for the next five years at least and I cannot see a future UK election, featuring a non Scottish party, that would allow another vote as part of their election campaign. Corbyn tried that and it did not do him much good.

The Conservatives have nothing to lose by saying no as they have few seats in Scotland to lose.

The Scots just need reminding that the Barnett formula might need adjusting and their is no need for their MP's to sit in Westminster.  ;)

The British People always get it right, what was offered in this election by Labour was socialism on a scale comparable to communism. the British public rejected it in full. and told Corbyn and his ideals to get back in their box.

When the collective establishment decided to put two fingers up to the Great British public over EU referendum, well the Great British public have just returned the favour.

I warned Remainers not only will we achieve Brexit but we'll take their politics as well and we have.

Labour lost in their heartlands,

The Tory party now have a majority of 80 MP's.

and true to form the Remainers never seen it coming. at some point their going to have to give their head a wobble. its not every one else who;s stupid, Its time for mirror and reflection.

The SNP will not stop pursuing independence, they had a referendum in 2014 and lost, now 5 years later they want another one. and you can bet when they lose that they'll want another one and another and another in a neverendum.

what we have to remember is for all the braveheart rubbish by the SNP 55% of Scots didn't vote for the SNP and you can bet in a referendum some of the SNP voters who are ex-Labour voters would vote No in any new referendum, i'd expect the any future vote to be 57% No, 43 Yes.

If i was Boris, i'd deny any call for a referendum, and let the SNP become a victim of their own politics, such as their complete failures in education Scotland, Police Scotland, and the NHS Scotland, , Boris has 5 years of open water in front of him. some vessels are not built to last the voyage.
