Still Waters Posted October 31, 2019 #1 Share Posted October 31, 2019 At least 70 people have died and dozens have been injured after a fire broke out on a passenger train in Pakistan. Footage showed three of the carriages engulfed by flames, with dark smoke pouring out of the windows, and witnesses said they heard trapped passengers crying and screaming. The railways minister, Sheikh Rashid Ahmed, said most of the deaths were passengers throwing themselves from the moving train to escape the fire. The minister said the incident was caused by the explosion of a gas canister while passengers were cooking breakfast on a stove on the train on Thursday morning. It is illegal to bring gas canisters on to trains but the rules are frequently flouted. https://www.theguardian.com/world/2019/oct/31/dead-punjab-fire-pakistan-passenger-train
