Still Waters Posted October 31, 2019 #1 Share Posted October 31, 2019 Ah, Oktoberfest. The annual festival draws some six million revelers to Munich, where the music is thumping, the sausage is sizzling and the beer (so, so much beer) is flowing. But all of these good times might not be so great for the environment. As Kai Kupferschmidt reports for Science, a new study has found that Oktoberfest releases considerable amounts of methane gas into the atmosphere. https://www.smithsonianmag.com/smart-news/hold-your-lederhosen-oktoberfest-produces-whole-lot-methane-gas-180973438/ https://www.theguardian.com/environment/2019/oct/27/oktoberfest-munich-methane-emissions-environment

Avoid the tents if concerned. Methane is lighter than air, and will rise and disperse if in the open. Lol. Tents trap methane unless well ventilated.
