In a bizarre incident in Uttar Pradesh's Jaunpur district, an egg challenge cost a man dear as he had to pay with his life, police said on Monday.

The deceased was identified as Subhash Yadav (42).

Police said that Yadav had accompanied his friend to the Bibiganj market area to eat eggs but suddenly an argument broke out between the two and they decided on a challenge of Rs2,000 for eating 50 eggs.

Things had been going fine until, upon attempting to eat his 42nd egg, Yadav collapsed on the spot.

He was born a man but he died a legend

They are if you're allergic to them. Otherwise:

Eggs contain several vitamins and minerals that are essential parts of a healthful diet.

and eaten in moderation of course.

Hen periods are great! Sunny side up, scrambled, poached, hard boiled, in recipes etc. I get excited when I get a double-yoker!

Chuck them at me and I’ll like it!

From the UM OP:

Suffice to say, eating a large number of eggs in one sitting is a bloody stupid thing to do.

I agree. If your egg swallowing capabilities you do not know, avoid the roe!

It did resolve the argument unfortunately.

Lol. It’s usually more about the competition than the prize.

Eggs are super high in saturated fats and cholesterol while being 0 in fiber.

I still wouldn't recommend trying to eat 50 of them, though.

I think that should be avoided, as much as possible. There are much healthier options than eggs if what you want is vitamins and minerals.

Oysters for exemple, are low-fat and low in cholesterol while packing more protein and nutrients than eggs.

Just to respond to the comments about cholesterol and saturated fat, according to PubMed, maintained by the United States Federal Government:

Dietary Cholesterol and the Lack of Evidence in Cardiovascular Disease
"...For years, dietary cholesterol was implicated in increasing blood cholesterol levels leading to the elevated risk of CVD. To date, extensive research did not show evidence to support a role of dietary cholesterol in the development of CVD. As a result, the 2015–2020 Dietary Guidelines for Americans removed the recommendations of restricting dietary cholesterol to 300 mg/day..."
https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC6024687/

And the British Journal of Sports Medicine listed a meta done of 30 studies that showed that replacing saturated fat with unsaturated fat showed no reduction in mortality.

British Journal of Sports Medicine:
"Saturated fat does not clog the arteries: coronary heart disease is a chronic inflammatory condition, the risk of which can be effectively reduced from healthy lifestyle interventions"
https://bjsm.bmj.com/content/51/15/1111

Also:

"...The present systematic review provides no evidence (moderate quality evidence) for the beneficial effects of reduced/modified fat diets in the secondary prevention of coronary heart disease. Recommending higher intakes of polyunsaturated fatty acids in replacement of saturated fatty acids was not associated with risk reduction..."
https://bmjopen.bmj.com/content/4/4/e004487

So please stop repeating outdated information from the 1950s. Sugar causes heart disease. Fat never did.
