A rescue puppy with an apparent second tail growing out of his head has been described as a "little anomaly that’s absolutely perfect".

The 10-week-old dog was found wandering the streets in the US and has since been taken in by Mac's Mission, a rescue operation which specialises in dogs with special needs.

The puppy's second tail has earnt him the name Narwhal, because the extra appendage resemble's a tusk.

"He’s literally the most magical thing you’ve ever seen, and so happy," Rochelle Steffen, founder of the Missouri-based rescue centre, told the PA news agency.
