Tesla's new Cybertruck breaks during demo

I was hoping to buy one but I don't like the design. I didn't see any room to haul anything in it.  That would have been a better demonstration.  A pickup truck is for hauling stuff.  And the price seems low, if you look up the price of a GMC pickup with all the bells and whistles, it is about the same price.  For some reason the price seems to depend on where you buy it.

The Eternal Flame

It looks a little like a Mars rover, or a stainless steel triangle on wheels.

But it is definitely like no other pickup truck you’ve seen before. And it lit up social media late Thursday during its unveiling with some deriding it as ugly -- and others loving its futuristic style.

That's the problem with going electric. What's the range on this thing when pulling 3500+lbs?

nope, not for me, will keep my f-150 for a few more years. This thing just looks ugly. I would be more interested in something like this https://youtu.be/QMfxJEfb4lw

See, that is my problem with the demo.  It did not give us the important information.

When I was looking at the website last year the pickup they showed looked like a normal pickup, you could even order it though it was not in production yet.

Apparently Musk ordered a press that makes simple body shapes to minimize the number of connected parts.

It seems to me that even the bath seems to be more elegant:

Compared to his Tesla roadsters, this design is extremely uninspired

I think it's ******g beautiful. Simple, elegant and rugged. It probably broke because they mistakeny used the wrong model for the demo. There are three models and the base model doesnt come with reinforced glass. To me, it screams Ridley Scott's Aliens universe, particularly the interior. If I can prove the computer to respond to "Mother" I'm so getting one of these.

I thought this was a joke! what an ugly car. I hope that's solar panels on the back for when you're camping for a week and you can get out of the bush?

Tesla will be owned by VW in a few years. They are building a factory in Germany and Musk appeared on stage with the VW CEO vowing to be arch enemies. I can't remember the last time to rival car manufacturers appeared on stage together vowing to fight each other.
