So, a few years back I was just starting to get interested in the spiritual world and I remember reading up astral projection and everything about it and thought how cool it would be visit the astral plane and just fly around. I had some experiences where I would go through the stages such as, sleep paralyzes, the vibrating sensation around the body and then literally feel my body start to float up upwards. I would always freak out at that stage because it felt so unnatural to me and I would always get sucked back into my body (I'm working to overcome this, but my anxiety gets the best of me unfortunately). Also, I would always have a hard time opening my eyes so I was not able to see what was going on because everything was black, but that's a question for another forum.

One night as I was attempting to astral project once again, the experience was a little different. I remember going into a trance like state, like I was going in between sleep and being wide awake and I don't remember if my eyes were closed or not, but I just remember seeing my room. I was seeing my room slowly start to shift as I was going deeper and deeper into this trance when I suddenly heard this female voice in my head clear as day say, "Go back". Immediately, I was warped back and woke up laying in bed all confused as I shift my eyes around the room and asked outload "Hello? Spirit guide?.......God?" No response. That was the first time I have experienced anything like that and was so receptive to since it felt like I heard it through my brain's ears. It didn't frighten me either. The voice was so calm when it said that to me I almost felt at peace with it like it was normal to me. It's been a few years since that unexpected night happened and I always think about that voice and that message but never knew what it was.

Just recently I came across a youtube video about a psychic ability called Clairaudience and some of the experiences I heard really connected with the one I had. Could that have been clairaudience? Am I a clairaudient? That was the only time I've experienced anything like that and I always wonder why she said for me to go back.

Thoughts? Also if you have any experiences that you would like to share or could share a link to another post like this please I'm really interested to hear them and learn more about it.

I think everyone is clairaudient to some degree. I remember hearing my deceased grandmother's voice in such a way that it felt like it was more than imagination or a normal dream. (can't prove it to myself or others)

Auditory hallucinations. I get them all the time when I'm in the same state.

Supposedly clairaudient is hearing voices/sounds/words from the spirit world (psychiclibrary.com). I dont know. I think there can be hundred reasons someone experiences auditory/visual hallucinations (before sleep). To name a few stress/anxiety/sleep disorders/mental illness/dream experimentation/lucid dreaming/chronic insomnia/medications (like ambien) side effects. Also Pineys link mentions exploding head syndrome, which I believe is not uncommon. Wikipedia states "people often go undiagnosed". Finally please look up (WILD) wake initiated lucid dream.

The Third Eye Conspiracy

I have much experience in this realm of hearing voices. I'm diagnosed Schizophrenic actually. I've had like4 or 5 of these voices swarming me before, insulting me constantly like bullies and preying on every insecurity they knew from reading my mind... once that happens your going to be sectioned and forcefully hospitalized for your own safety and the only thing that stops them is Anti-psychotic medication

but nowadays I hear the odd voice say things, not only that but I can make out entities in the astral realm as I experiment with visionary experiences, they all work together hypnagogically usually as I'm drifting to sleep. It's all real and schizophrenics see this realm, anyone who says different doesn't know what their talking about tbh ...

your best bet is to do a deep dive into occult literature and try to find out about the astral realm, there are books out there and you can find links and all on my website https://thethirdeyeconspiracy.com/ its a resource for research Ive created as a kind of archive of esoteric knowledge I'm constantly building up and updating.

I've got so many stories of these voices, sometimes they've even said things to do with the future!

Hearing other voices from someone not there is totally normal, especially if you're naturally sensitive to the spiritual side of things, or if you're in a state such as that. Weirdly, I always hear a large gathering of voices when I try to sleep, like a crowd of people all talking with each other, which is why I had to buy a white noise machine to drown it out. Throughout the day, I also hear stuff like whistles when I'm alone in my bedroom or a voice (yet not quite a voice?) in my head will say something, most often tied into what I'm doing, like if I'm practicing my basic strategy for blackjack, I'll sometimes hear that voice say "jackpot" right before I pull the card out of the stack to reveal a blackjack, which, I'm not gonna lie, is the funniest thing. Some of these voices I can shrug off as spirits in passing, but the one that I hear more in my head I've come to associate with my spirit guide since it seems to happen more the closer I work with him. My whole family is full of spiritually sensitive people, so I come by it naturally. Is it a normal occurrence for your family? Perhaps the voice you heard was your spirit guide, or maybe a worried soul in passing? She could have been trying to warn you since other beings exist in the spiritual realm. Anyways, good luck!

@Bexxatha Welcome to the forum.  I think that everyone has all the "claire..." abilities, it just depends on what you pay attention to.  Since you were trying to astral travel and you finally got out of your body, the voice you heard/felt was not clairaudiance, it was either your superconscious, guardian, what ever you want to call it, telling you to get back in your body.  There must have been a reason for that and I suspect it is that you need more information about what you are trying to do and more understanding.
