"A UPS driver held hostage after a jewellery heist has been shot dead along with two robbers and another bystander, the FBI said.

"Two armed thieves targeted Regent Jewelers store in Coral Gables, South Florida, before stealing a truck driven by 27-year-old Frank Ordonez and leading the police on a chase.

"The truck got stuck in traffic and the pursuit ended in gunfire at a busy intersection during rush hour, according to the FBI."

"The exchange of gunfire in Miramar, Fla., killed the UPS driver as well as the two carjackers who kidnapped him, according to George Piro, the special agent in charge of the F.B.I.’s Miami field office. He described the fourth person killed as a bystander, but on Friday he publicly released only the names of the two people who he said were responsible for the robbery and abduction. "

This is the UPS driver.

Police tactics are being questioned but the whole incident was recorded by news helicopters over the scene. It is unclear if the shooting started inside the truck or if police shot first. It is believed it was the suspects who fired first. Good video in this link.

Yup, shoot first and let God sort it out, seem to be sop now. Must have been taking lessons from Russian police.

While not near as bad as the Moscow crisis, give them time. My money saýs, the cops will be exonerated.

They should have broke off the chase when the robbers went into a heavy traffic area. There were helicopters up so they wouldn't have lost them. It has yet to be determined who started the fire fight and whose bullets hit the victims.
