the weird thing about all this is that the very people who were jumping up and down and opposing
the Iraq war and Bush and Blair and protesting in their millions on the streets of Europe... are now the
ones who are going full hate on Trump.... who is less of a warmonger than the last few Presidents ....
(AND they are the ones generally supporting the Bureaucratic Dictatorship that is the EU...)

Meh, I could accuse the "progressive" left of many things. But consistency and rationality are NOT two of them :P

If I remember right they were generally against the TPP (Trans Pacific Partnership) and on Trumps
first day as President he pulled America out of it which kind of spoiled the plans for it... but instead
of going .... oh good well done Trump they were.................crickets.....................

and the Peace Movement who were advocating better relations with Russia and a reduction of
tensions between the West and Russia - Trump expresses the very same thing and they are....
........................ crickets.........

edit to add....... excuse the generalization.... I'm using a couple of examples to back up your
remark about inconsistency....
it's not everyone who opposed the TPP or were in CND / Peace movement
but I wouldn't be surprised if it was a general trend in that direction...

Complete hyperbole and hysteria.

What was his alleged crime ? Asking a foreign leader to investigate corruption of a senior US Politician ?

Yes. Forcing a foreign leader to help you with a personal matter in the next election violates campaign finance laws in addition to bribery/extortion laws. He also withheld aid in violation of a 1974 law that was specifically created to combat Presidential corruption:

Quote

The Congressional Budget and Impoundment Control Act of 1974 was passed in response to perceived abuse of the power under President Nixon

He has since been continually guilty of obstruction of Congress, with Congress having absolute authority to investigate any politician or political appointee (like judges).

So, that's at least four laws off the top of my head.

I mean, Je-sus. These points have been established since the first few weeks and here we are in December and people are still asking, 'What laws has he broke?' What on earth... You're not even a cultist who devours their constant right-wing media propaganda, so you have no excuse, mate.

And abuse of power, which is the primary reason for Impeachment to exist, doesn't even need to involve a crime.

However, in the UK, I don't believe that people ARE laughing at Trump. Nor do I believe that he has somehow damaged the USA's international reputation.

speaking as someone who lives in the UK I do believe that people ARE laughing at Trump. AND I  do believe that he has somehow damaged the USA's international reputation.

From June 2019:

Political opinion data from YouGov U.K. shows Trump, who is visiting the U.K. this week with his family, ranks only behind former President Barack Obama in terms of fame. But among U.K. residents surveyed between May 2018 and April 2019, two-thirds had a negative opinion of Trump, compared to only 11 percent who felt that way about Obama.

The YouGov survey data reveals only 21 percent of U.K. residents had a positive opinion of Trump, compared to Obama, who had a staggering 72 percent favorable rating.

anecdotally where I live a lot of topics are off limits so once strangers dispense with the weather and how was your journey - the next neutral topic of conversation will be along the lines - "did you see that tweet Trump put out last night" usually getting the expected reaction - incredulity.

re bolded.....

It is Trump's enemies in collusion with the MSM around the world who has turned America
into a Laughing Stock...... (if indeed it's true to say that America actually IS a laughing stock...)

and you call him Humpty Trumpty so you are adding to it...

re what he has done from a military standpoint...

He has worked to neutralize North Korea as a potentially nuclear attacker (albeit a hypothetical one
because there was no way they would ever get a nuclear weapon into US air space or even get it off
the ground..? )

he was CONNED briefly by his military advisers after the fake Chemical Attack in Syria... to frame Assad..
and put in a position where he had to DO SOMETHING ..... so he did something but something that while
being all dramatic didn't do TOO much damage and didn't create a further build up of dangerous
tension with Russia...

Although at the time he went on about 'beautiful babies' and 'Animal Assad'.... I hope he has since learned
that he was played like a fiddle over that... and will be more careful in future...

and Ukraine.... he was trying to investigate the origins of the Russia collusion hoax and in fear of
being found out of serious corruption in recent past in Ukraine the Democrats and CIA / Brennan and
cohorts made a mountain out of a mole hill and are trying to impeach him over it.... as part of protecting
themselves but also as electioneering for 2020...

Still on the Brennan thing.

What if the whistleblower was simply Gene Dodaro?

PS. Why do Trump apologists have to project hate so much?

Jesus, MORE hyperbole.

If Trump isn't convicted by the Senate, he'll have the power of... a US President, which was what the people elected him to be.

As for the graphs.. most interesting.. thanks for that @ExpandMyMind. However, please note that the Gallup graph you posted is over five months old. (and that was the date it was PUBLISHED, not the date that the data was gathered).

You really think Trump has somehow become an expert statesman and gained global respect since the end of 2018?

Let's see, Trump achievements in 2019...

Driven the US to the brink of war with Iran.

Pulled out of Syria, handing the region to Russia and Iran and giving ISIS the opportunity to recover.

Impeachment hearings.

Called the Italian president 'President Mozzarella'.

Yeah, I'm sure no one's laughing now.

See my theory is it's all deliberate.

Congress starts impeachment proceedings? Pull out of Syria and trigger ethnic cleansing - everyone forgets about impeachment for a week.

Oh ****, turns out Syria was important and even my own generals are saying I'm a moron. Ooh meeting with President Matterella? Well, I know just how to make then forget about Syria...

I realize many here will potentially faint from the vapors over this topic but I'm serious.  WHAT law has he broken?  What has he done to harm freedom of the press?  The economy is booming at a record rate.  Employment is available for everyone who desires a job.  It's like a scene from some surreal alternate world where GOOD is really BAD.  Thankfully, they have been so blatant with their attacks and nonsense accusations that Independents are beginning to break increasingly for Trump.  Polls that show all the Democrat candidates as more popular than Trump are laughable.

Soooooo... cite the crimes.  Cite the tyranny he has implemented against the press/media.  Cite his wrongdoing by STATUTE.  If you can't then maybe the problem isn't Trump.  Maybe the problem is in the minds of those who openly hate the man.

What about not informing Congress of the deferral in accordance with the Impoundment Control Act?

PS. Why do the Trump supporters have to project hate?

It wasn't fake news at all, it was Twitter posters. No established and respected news outlets published such a story, that I can see. And it wasn't portrayed in Twitter posts as a news article (which is the actual definition of fake news).

You know that Deep State is a reference to public servants, especially those with far ranging delegations, ignoring law, right?

I bet searching on the word 'hate' would show some insights that you might not be so comfortable with.  That's bringing the discussion to the emotional level.  Ir raises the question of why you want to do that?

It's not fake news. Snopes was benevolent, but everyone can see and hear for themselves.

Trump is slurring his words a lot. Is it the dentures or something neurological, I don't really care, do you, to quote his wife. The fact remains he often can't properly pronounce even the most frequent words, let alone foreign names. Or spell them. Or use them in a full sentence. Or understand them.

And the thousand years of (implied to be European, therefore white) shared heritage is neo-Nazi trope, so commonly known as such, it made both the president Mattarella and the translator look at Trump like he's lost his mind. He didn't. In order to lose something, you've got to have it in the first place.

Fake news (also known as junk news, pseudo-news, or hoax news[1][2]) is a form of news consisting of deliberate disinformation or hoaxes spread via traditional news media (print and broadcast) or online social media.[3][4]

Another poll had it at 18% / 76%.

Most of the world outside of the USA is both laughing at Trump and horrified by him, in equal measure.

We feel sorry for the division he has caused, and his policy of isolating America and threatening alliances in the West.

Those who support Trump really do watch Fox News only, and don't know what's going on in the real world.

He might've said "Sergi" instead of "Sergio". But, he wasn't slurring his words - at least nowhere near as Nancy in the OP.

I'd put it down to a New York thing.
