Pentagon in U-turn over secretive UFO program

Both programs were a result of threat analysis and recommendations for further data collection. Following the end of the Cold War and Persian Gulf War, the shift for unconventional enemies and advanced technology threats were, and still are, taken very seriously. "This contradicts everything we know of the programs." It should actually mean what the reporters were told and believe. The push for this to be associated  with extraterrestrial crafts and beings is rubbish. The DOD and sub components along with the intelligence apparatus are deeply concerned with peer to peer or near-peer threats and have ben for some time now. Not little gray men in their intergalactic tour buses.

The AATIP program was there to assess threats to the military. One of the important issues is to find out why pilots were confused about what they saw.

Previously the Navy spokesman stated that the U in UAP meant unknown or unauthorized.

That is consistent with what is still being stated by the military.

the military is always interested in unknown craft in our air space or near our ships. They just won't assume Unknown=ET.

The US government has completely changed its story over the purpose of its now-cancelled UFO program.

What better way to hide your true intents, why not tell the truth when the program is declassified.

Meh... a single, relatively low-grade, member of the Pentagon.

sorry, somewhat unconvincing.

The REALITY is that the Pentagon have been in close contact with alien spacecraft, and have already negotiating surrender terms for Planet Earth.

In accordance with the Atlantis Agreement, as negotiated by Elvis Presley, riding Shergar.

Too late for the military to turn back now, the geanie is out of the bottle. The Navy top brass have already admitted publicly that UAPs exist, and they can out fly anything we have. It's the same with the two Pentagon programs. We know UFOs (UAPs) exist. What we want to know is, what are they and who's flying them?

You are making a number of mistakes here.

1. A UAP means unidentified or unauthorized. That is what the Navy states. That is not something admitted, that is the definition.

2. The top brass has never admitted "they can out fly anything we have". In fact no one has admitted that. There are some people that have made that claim. No evidence supports that.

UFOs or UAPS are often the mistaken interpretation of the people using sensing equipment such as radar, visual sightings, or IR. The military would lie to reduce the misidentifications and the unable to identify situations. It protects the warrior.

And I could not agree more. If more people understood this simple fact, there would be less mud in the waters of UFOology.
