Still Waters Posted December 8, 2019 #1 Share Posted December 8, 2019 A fire has swept through a market in Delhi in the early hours, killing at least 43 people and prompting an outpouring of grief and anger. Witnesses said the fire took hold so quickly that there was little time for 50 labourers sleeping on the third floor of a factory building to make their escape. It took three hours to extinguish the blaze, and by Sunday afternoon the extent of the damage was clear. Most of the dead are thought to be migrant labourers from Bihar state, the youngest victim is thought to be 13. A further 50 people were injured, some of whom are in a critical condition. Police said building had violated multiple regulations and that the owner had been arrested. https://www.theguardian.com/world/2019/dec/08/delhi-fire-india-factory-dozens-dead https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-asia-india-50703659 1
