Soap and detergent, depends on if the substance is a soap or a detergent, lol. Those are two different things. Suds is the foamy stuff that soaps and detergents can produce, depending on the formula.

Draw the curtains, also draw the shades, and close/open the blinds (draw the blinds if pulling them to one side).

Grocery list for groceries, shopping list for things at other stores.

As for shopping or grocery lines, neither. Here it's usually the checkout or cash line.

When referring to multi-level parking do you say parking garage, parking deck, car park, multi-storey, parkade, or indoor parking?

A lot of people here say close the light or open the light.  We say close the curtains/drapes.

I'm French and I preferrably say 'pavement' in English because I associate it with the French word 'pavé' ('cobblestone').
