It looks like Verhoftstadt has turned into a brexiteer and now wants to have a no WA deal exit :w00t:

"The Belgian MEP used his speech in the Parliament's plenary in Strasbourg on Wednesday to suggest MEPs could decline to ratify the Brexit bill that has been agreed between the European Commission and the UK Government."

That could be the final twist that would send Remainers into full melt down......
The EU being the ones to make a No Deal / Clean Break Brexit happen...

They haven't seen that one coming....... :w00t:

Unfortunately not much chance of an MEP rebellion. Once Verhoftstadt's meds kick in he will remember why he was given an EU embossed, gold plated, rubber stamp when he signed up and the deal will be passed in about half an hour. :santa:

The US Department of Agriculture listed Wakanda as a free-trade partner - despite it being a fictional country.

https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-us-canada-50849559

No wonder the UK fully expect to get a trade deal with the USA. seemingly they will give you one even if you don't exist :)

That just sounds like a civil servant made a mistake when updating the list for public information.

EU desperate for an extension, keep the UK tied to them for as long as possible. hoping for an uprising.

But in the coming years just like not joining the €uro the UK has dodged a bullet.

Personally I couldn't care less what happens to the EU now we are finally leaving the rat infested hellhole. They can keep their migrants, bail out poor countries, collapse the euro, turn into another 3rd world shithole - because as far as the UK tax payer is concerned, it's not our problem anymore.

We'll trade with the world, make our own laws, say who is allowed in our country and who can use the NHS and claim benefits etc.  **** the EU - they have shown they are not our friends, but are just dictators busily building a federal europe - and we also know from history how that works out in the long run.

Well we certainly wish you would get on with it.

Our President is really tired of getting ripped off by the EU.  Once we separate you from the herd, we can work our own deal with you and make sure we get a good one.

I have heard he wands Boris to open up National Healthcare  to American companies and move toward private insurance.  You will love sharing the benefits of the best health care system in the world and paying the prices we pay for medical care and prescription drugs.

We gotta get ours before China gets a crack at you too.

Seriously though,  good luck.  You may gain more freedom and self determination and that is worth a great deal.  You may not find it is as financially beneficial as you currently believe.

Boris Johnson says ‘no more Montagues and Capulets’ as MPs debate Brexit withdrawal agreement.... :D

He wants people to drop the Leave and Remain group names and come together in unity..

Live: MPs to debate and vote on Brexit Bill | ITV News

Telegraph Live Stream

The European Union (Withdrawal Agreement) Bill will be debated at second reading before the Commons breaks for a fortnight's Christmas break.

MPs should also agreed an accelerated timetable for the legislation which should see it pass through tall of its Commons stages by Thursday January 9. The strengthened version of the Bill makes clear that the UK will leave the EU at 11pm on Friday January 31, rather than leaving open the possibility of quitting the trading bloc earlier than that date.

It also makes it unlawful for any minister to stop the UK leaving on Jan 31 or extending the implementation period to after Dec 31 2020.

Romeo and Juliet - famous quotes....

"For this alliance may so happy prove,
To turn your households' rancour to pure love.
(Friar Laurence, Act 2 Scene 2)"

for the sake of the Nation and the generations to come....

can we do it...?

will we do it....?

or will we let the 'rancour' carry on.....?

Look, it's really simple.

We will complete Brexit, so the term "Brexiteer" becomes the default condition for people in this country.

The "Remainers" will become a bye-word for sad people who weep into their beer in a lonely corner of the pub.

Their opinions will be discounted and ignored. Thus, we will be united ! :)

well, we are getting on with it, we had a parliament that took on the people and lost, these MP's and their parties who've been blocking our exit for 9 months are no more, the people give them a good kicking in the general election. and so its now full steam ahead, so come 31st January we'll have left. your congress as already passed a motion for trade talks with the UK 18 months ago. No one in europe has the relationship with the U.S like the UK does, the cultural aspect the shared values the common values and shared language and world outlook.

on health care you might have heard it but the NHS is not up for sale, of course there is room for American companies to supply drugs and equipment. there is no sensible argument to keep buying drugs from Spain or Germany if the US can supply the same drugs and equipment to the same standard for a cheaper price. my local NHS authority uses an American firm based in the UK and has done for 4 years for their blood screening. the NHS was taking upto a week to three weeks to process, the American firm now has it down to three days and does it cheaper and to the same standard. on a personal level my dad had a blood test carried out and he was told to make an appointment at his local GP surgery for three days later, later that same day his local doctors phoned him up with an appointment my dad explained he'd only just had the blood sample taken and was told to make an appoint for three days time, the doctors Yes but we have your results and the results where at his doctors within 8 hours. myself i cant see anything wrong in that. or maybe he should have waited 7 days or upto three weeks like the old days of the NHS doing it. who thought the Great SATAN U.S could offer such a good value service. for the record an Italian firm does his diabetes blood checks. equally as good. no-one seems to moan about this or tell us the Italian company is BAD. Germany, Spain Portugal, Netherlands, Italy, France all have their tentacles in the NHS. There obviously good, U.S Bad.

On the benefit of reclaiming our sovereignty, and ability to conduct trade deals in our interest, i agree, it may not be as beneficial as i think, it'll probably be better than expected. we've already tied up all the trade deals we currently enjoy as part of the EU, we were told no-one would want a trade deal with little old Britain. it seems countries cannot sign up quick enough.

The UK as always been a outward looking country, we've always believed our future prosperity lay on the open seas, Europe is inward looking, they dont have the cultural links around the world the UK has, we are a maritime nation our concerns in the world are not limited to Europe but the world. for the last decade the UK's trade with the EU as been declining, the rest of the world increasing. we can no long limit ourselves to EU trade policies, how can it be right that the worlds 5th largest economy is forbidden from conducting its own free trade deals.

Absolutely. The people have elected their representatives and they are following through on the mandate they were given.

Which also rules out your no deal exit. Suck it up.

And I wish the insults were a surprise. Obviously you're as bad a loser as you are a winner.

Once again the E.U. are trying desperately to keep us in the confines of Europe ,and trying every trick that they can think of to make that happen , they will by now have realised that the bill going through our parliament is real and its happening , the 31st Jan 2020 is the date we escape whether or not they like it . Boris (Moses) Johnson is making it happen , a No Deal /Clean break could happen , then we would have the Germans coming to us and asking if they can continue selling their motor industry to  us .I have noticed that there seems to be more and more foreign NON E.U. cars on our roads and car parks , such as Nissan, Honda , Kia , etc , maybe the Germans have realised this.

Hmm... in what way does the 'mandate' rule out a "no-deal" Brexit ?

Are we leaving? Yes, thank you and goodnight,

You can claim no moral high ground whatsoever the amount of insult you've threw around.

Well they were elected on the basis of Boris' deal. And the bill they passed today follows up on that :)

Yep, with the deal you didn't want. It would be funny if it wasn't so pathetic.

Actually, nah, it's still funny.

As we've all said from the beginning "no deal is better than a bad deal" it looks like Boris is going to get the deal we want.
