The prosecution would have to make their case,

And once they are given the right to call witnesses this trial will become an unending new "investigation".  Screw them!  This farce needs to be dismissed out of hand and no credence given to it at all.

Let your government decide it wants you in jail and you WILL be found guilty of a crime.  Anyone would be.  If that kind of action seems good to you then hopefully you'll get to enjoy it someday.  Every plea or conviction against a Trump associate had ZERO...NOTHING to do with the cause for that investigation.  Nothing whatever to prove collusion, conspiracy...NOTHING.  Crowing about those convictions makes you seem childish or witless.

Bring the trial, exonerate and move on.

That's where you are ignorant of the plan and the process.  Once that door is open, the D's can basically use the trial to begin a whole new "investigation".  Enough is damned sure enough.  They've already stated that they plan to continue the investigation and have mentioned impeachment not being a one-off.  As in, they can impeach him as often as it takes.  I say let them.  But each time they refuse to allow due process and fair discussion of the charges, the Senate should simply dismiss it and move on to the next attempt.  You are old enough to understand that this is bullstuff and yet you seem to support it.  Why?  Because it's Trump?  Or is it that you really don't understand what these idiots are doing to our Constitution?  If they succeed in even having a trial then every time a House gets the notion to drag this country through this madness in an attempt to undo a duly elected president, they will do so.  The Founders knew this and warned against it.

Thats generally what happens when an investigation is obstructed. It continues until it gets past those obstructions. There is a really easy way for Trump to end this particular investigation.

They can impeach him as many times as they like even without the Senate trial.  They already said they are continuing investigations.  This is going on regardless if McConnell has a fair trial or not.

You seem to think McConnell's actions are going to end this.  We still have emoluments, his taxes, the campaign finance violations, etc. that they still can (and will go) after him for.  Trump is the gift that keeps giving.

Dude just stop.  You are on the wrong side of the Constitution discussion. As evidence here is the POTUS you are defending asking why we should follow the Constitution.

Trump seems to forget that he is president of Nancy's district too.  It takes both of them working together to pass legislation and solve problems.

Hey that brings up a great point.

Have you noticed how he has turned "small government conservatives" into pro big government state interventionists?

What amazing optics that is.
Democrats impeach and Reps go “meh, we’ll ignore you” leaving it to their followers to find a justification for their actions. Rule of law? We’re above the rule of law because the other side is mean. THAT is how it looks.

Where is the line for you and yours?  You're so indoctrinated your willing to take Shokin's word. And, Putin's backin' your idol now.

Three years of draining the swamp and the only scalps are from his own hand picked team.

I’m pretty sure that is how Trump started.  He’s got the Left so wound up, they are losing their minds.  Your hatred has consumed you so much that all rational thought has left you.  That kind of hatred blinds you to the facts.  The Left is in fear and fear leads to anger.  Anger leads to hate.  Hate leads to suffering.  And you guys are suffering and I am enjoying the spectacle.

That is pretty much what the right looks like too, blinded by hate and anger.  However, I don't much enjoy seeing my country torn apart and suffering.

Under Obama the far-left were given a voice in the US and ever since then they think they run the show.

I think it is rather ironic that anyone living in a country with socialized medicine could call anyone in the US Left Wing.

I'm just wondering what the next manufactured crysis the Democrats come up with next once the impeachment blows over?

And I am not pro or against Trump, it is just they all stood there and said with solemn faces "They had no choice but to impeach Trump." Yeah O.K. Maxine Waters has wanted to Impeach him before he was even sworn in.

There is so much bias on the Democratic side of the house and senate against this man for winning an election they all felt Hillary should have won, not to mention the media bias which only mentions him in a negative light and positive stuff can only be found on smaller news media sites because MSM won't cover it.

One can only imagine how good ALL Americans could feel if the MSM stopped deliberately
spreading negativity and lowering the energy - stopped dragging people down with fakery and bias
and stopped setting citizen against citizen in some grand evil plan to indoctrinate against President Trump...

And we see how insidious the censorship / bias on the Internet is because they are trying by stealth to control
the information on it like they do with the MSM....and we are part way through all that as algorithms are set
to control what people can and can't see... what gets promoted and what gets demoted...what you can find
in a Search and what / who is sidelined... and that's AFTER people who don't ''''fit in'''' with the perception
management are banned on popular social media platforms..

And the people doing all this damage don't realized that THEY are the fascists - THEY are problem...
It's quite ridiculous .... but they think they are the good guys and that's what enables them to carry on
with the dangerous nonsense...

What grandstanding are you referring too?

Trump has broken the law. A whistle blower alerted the country of that fact even after Trump denied it. 19 of Trumps own people testified that the whistle blower was correct. Trump has obstructed the investigation from day dot. McConnell has helped Trump in a bias way. The country needs to know the extent of Trumps corruption even if he doesn't get voted out on partizan lines.

Its called democracy.

can we just stop the BS about there being a genuine whistle blower...

it's a CIA / Deep State operation... a coup... and the 'whistle blower' is just a fabrication
to drive the Sham Impeachment... that power hungry Democrats are fronting

there may be a real person who has agreed to have their name attached to the so called
'whistle blowing' .... but c'mon let's not continue with the pretense....

"It's pretty simple. The CIA 'Whistleblower' is not a real whistleblower"

Trump's got nothing to hide.... so didn't have a problem 'offering up the transcript'...

But the person who put their name to a CIA / Deep State '''whistle blowing''' testimony obviously
has a lot to hide and that's why they are being kept out of public view and prevented from appearing
at any hearings... just in case they blow the whole thing and can't keep up the pretense..

It's not rocket science... so let's just drop the play acting and BS....

The only "Law" involved here is the Constitution and it says VERY little about the process the D's have invoked.  The Senate shall have sole responsibility for trying an Impeachment.  As in, the House's responsibility and authority ENDS with bringing forth the indictment.  Only a fool would look at how the House came to bring these charges and then pontificate on the injustice of the Senate being just as partisan.  Get over yourself.

If the prosecution had made their case then no one would seek to exonerate Trump.  But this is so clearly a farse that no one believes the lies the Left have been espousing.  The Progs have been out to impeach Trump from the beginning.  Stop deluding yourselves.  I don’t want a prejudice trial as the hearings were prejudiced.  I want to see real evidence that amounts to more than the Progs don’t like Trump.  What gets me is that the Progs don’t see how this is cutting their own throats down the road.  That is TDS.

It's debatable what's the worse...believing the lies or PRETENDING to believe the lies...

Like a choice of being stupid or bad... gullible or evil...

And on the evidence thus far the Democrats seem to be a mixture of all of that...

Clearly he did:

Trump impeached by the House for abuse of power, obstruction of Congress

You'll note the second one is literally for hiding stuff. :tu:

Trump is a bear, caught in a steel trap. Tortured by everyone, poked at and prodded. He roars on Twitter like he’s still free to roam. Yet, he cannot conduct business as usual, as a famed racketeer.

He will never free himself, his ego would never allow it. He must show off his wounds, that his roars can be justified.

A self firing Trump would be a self proclaimed “loser,” and that’s one thing it’s far too late to admit.

Bleakly, I said, hang your head in shame and pain, most of U.S. truly do hate you, and your kind. Not because of your gold and clubs; rather, because your abuse of our fair minds ... to the point of madness.

We no longer love to hate you, we really do hate you. But don’t quit, at least not until your leg is badly injured enough, that the political bone gleams white for the circling wolves to feast on.

Into the night, dark monster, into the fire, but never ... freedom. We won’t allow it.
