So the law is to be obeyed only when it suits?

Whether or not they bring in the circus clowns and Dems get to pontificate standing in front of the flag looking pompous and pretentious, it's already over. A partisan impeachment in the House will meet it's partisan conclusion in the Senate and Joe Biden's son is being investigated. The Dems decided to impeach, come what may and it will come. There will be political casualties.

The only "Law" involved here is the Constitution and it says VERY little about the process the D's have invoked.  The Senate shall have sole responsibility for trying an Impeachment.  As in, the House's responsibility and authority ENDS with bringing forth the indictment.  Only a fool would look at how the House came to bring these charges and then pontificate on the injustice of the Senate being just as partisan.  Get over yourself.

The best way to drain the swamp is to start at the top.

I’m pretty sure that is how Trump started.  He’s got the Left so wound up, they are losing their minds.  Your hatred has consumed you so much that all rational thought has left you.  That kind of hatred blinds you to the facts.  The Left is in fear and fear leads to anger.  Anger leads to hate.  Hate leads to suffering.  And you guys are suffering and I am enjoying the spectacle.

Like Nixon.

That’s a wimpy equivalence.  You really think that makes your case?  The real scandal is the FISA abuse and weaponizing the government against the people.  It will be worse than Watergate and Teapot Dome combined.  The Socialists got too greedy and now they will pay.

You need to legislate new rules that make everyone accountable. Ethics and rules.

Isn’t that the socialist way?  Legislate new rules?  When yo ucan’t get your way, impose new rules to achieve your goals.  Character is the best guide for ethics.  Congress shows poor character acting so childishly.  But the thing to fix that is the vote.  Let the people regulate the ethics of their representatives.

A president can't do that.

Actually, a President can.  All Presidents have.  The President has broad powers.  It is one of the President’s most important tools in his toolbox.  What Biden did is corruption.  That is not the same has what Trump did.

Certainly not one as unethical as Trump.

I don’t think it is wise to talk about ‘unethical’.  Especially with the shenanigans the Left has pulled.  In general, the character of the Left is lacking.  And that is due to ideology.

Something congress can only do.

You seem to forget that we have 3 *CO-EQUAL* branches.  They have distinct functions.  What that means is that they are independent of one another.  Congress is not the President and shouldn’t try to usurp his powers.  And for years, Congress has been stealing powers away from the President.  It’s about time, he takes a few back.

So why is Lindsay Graham and Mitch McConnell not doing their job ?

They are.  One of their functions is to reject inappropriate action by the Speaker of the House.  Pelosi is abusing her power trying to extort McConnell for Quid Pro Quo.  He is simply not having it.  Pelosi needs to file the articles of impeachment or not with no strings attached.  Graham is already to go with a slate of witnesses, should McConnell deem it necessary.  The Progs have thrown down the gauntlet and whatever course is selected, the Republicans are going to thrash the Progs with it.

No you just want a prejudice trial to exonerate Trump.

If the prosecution had made their case then no one would seek to exonerate Trump.  But this is so clearly a farse that no one believes the lies the Left have been espousing.  The Progs have been out to impeach Trump from the beginning.  Stop deluding yourselves.  I don’t want a prejudice trial as the hearings were prejudiced.  I want to see real evidence that amounts to more than the Progs don’t like Trump.  What gets me is that the Progs don’t see how this is cutting their own throats down the road.  That is TDS.

Once McConnell presents the terms for free and impartial jurors then everyone can have their day in court. Especially Trump.

A trial in the Senate will be run by Due Process.  Something the Progs didn’t afford Trump in the House hearings.  The prosecution would have to make their case, otherwise, Trump is under no obligation to testify and those under executive privilege don’t have to either.  Trump does get the right to confront his accuser.

Trump is a Sith Lord now is he?

Kinda makes sense.  The Jedi always struck me as being all left-wing with their whole, "Let go of your feelings and just do good stuff."

And I am not pro or against Trump, it is just they all stood there and said with solemn faces "They had no choice but to impeach Trump." Yeah O.K. Maxine Waters has wanted to Impeach him before he was even sworn in.

Two things can be true at once however. Yes the dems have always wanted to impeach Trump, and yes Trump screwed up by giving them an impeachable offense.

Same goes with yes it is a solemn thing to impeach a POTUS, but, if you thought the constitution was in danger wouldnt you cheer at successful moves to protect it?

There is so much bias on the Democratic side of the house and senate against this man for winning an election they all felt Hillary should have won, not to mention the media bias which only mentions him in a negative light and positive stuff can only be found on smaller news media sites because MSM won't cover it.

Its not that the MSM doesnt cover the positive about Trump they absolutely do. The problem is the negative stories are honestly big deals and theyre freaking constant.  From mocking a handicap guy (or not) to refusing to disavow the KKK on CNN to telling the world he sides with Putin over Americans to 10 cases of obstruction of justice to swindling his charity to childish insults to a WH in disarray , to the laundry list of constituionally concerning behaviors to nepotism to emoluments violations and of course the non stop cavalcade of lies (and on and on and on)  .......Trump himself is always, and I do mean always , stealing positive headlines from himself.

Dont blame the media covering that on bias.

Such empathy and sensitivity.

Interesting that this is your only comment.  You clearly didn’t understand the message.  I was not espousing hate but reporting on the hate of the Left.  I’m just warning that if you don’t change your course, it will not end well for you.

Fighting the good fight from gaol.  Your grip on reality should be in the last place you look for it.  The challenge for you will be to recognise it.

Who said you were espousing anything other than you'll make excuses for your idol.

But, what is interesting is that want to keep parading some corrupted empathy and talking about people's emotions.  You mentioned hate three or four times then said it amuses you.

What trial?
The Dems are grandstanding and more than likely have made a mountain out of a mole turd, but the Republicans are a shower of cowards who don’t want to have to deal with the very real consequences of the Dems actions. Bring the trial, exonerate and move on. Instead they go “we’re all biased, you can get stuffed”. That’s not how the legal system, and if this is a trial than legal system it is, should behave in a first world country.

No, I’m pretty sure I was making the reference that Trump is a Jedi Knight.  Or call it Divine intervention or just Karma.  Trump is in the right place at the right time to take on the corruption that oozes from our politicians.  BTW, The Sith follow the Dark side.  It looked like the House had succumbed to the Dark Side.  [possible spoiler] Very much reminiscent of the Sith Hive before it’s destruction.

That’s not a Left-wing ideal.  The Jedi are independent.  They tend to operate separately and self-sufficiently.  They reflect within themselves.  These are Conservative ideals.  You also don’t quite have the concept.  It’s not “Let go of your feelings and just do good stuff.”  It’s just “let go of your feelings” and trust in the force.  The force will find the right balance.

Yeah yeah yeah. Trump, Graham and McConnell are all afraid to call witnesses. They want this trail over and done with and the dem's won't have a bar of it. Trump went so far as to call the previous 19 that testified against him "never Trumpers". He has blocked the flow of facts going forth. Of course Trump is welcome to state his silly crowdstike allegations but he has to stop obstructing justice. And we won't see real evidence until McConnell bites the bullet and forces the big fish to testify. As for cutting throats... why should it bother you what the dam's do?

Due process is being ignored. Trump is under every obligation to testify the fact that he doesn't is only due to Mitch.

Executive privilege didn't save Nixon and his crime was half that of Trump's.

US v. Nixon, 1974

In 1974, the Supreme Court decided US v. Nixon, a matter arising from a special prosecutor’s criminal grand jury investigation of president Richard Nixon’s White House aides, the ones involved in the Watergate break-ins. The prosector subpoenaed audio tapes of conversations recorded by Nixon in the White House. The president refused to turn them over, claiming executive privilege. But the high court strongly disagreed with the president, and its decision effectively ended his presidency, prompting him to quit before a formal impeachment trial in the Senate.

What grandstanding are you referring too?

Trump has broken the law. A whistle blower alerted the country of that fact even after Trump denied it. 19 of Trumps own people testified that the whistle blower was correct. Trump has obstructed the investigation from day dot. McConnell has helped Trump in a bias way. The country needs to know the extent of Trumps corruption even if he doesn't get voted out on partizan lines.

Its called democracy.

Oh my gosh, I find this hilarious.  You know George Lucas flat out said that he incorporated politics when he wrote Star Wars right?  And it wasn't in the manner you just described.  I just love how you re-write reality to fit your agenda.

Have they progressed the impeachment to trial in the senate? No. Why not? Because to me it looks like they’re taking advantage of the opportunity to have a bit of a gloat.

Using honey to catch more fly's isn't exactly "grandstanding". If this was a court case Trump's goose would be fried. My opinion is that at some point there will be an impasse and Nancy Pelosi will go to the courts looking for the evidence that the obstructing republicans won't provide. She'll call a constitutional crises and have the courts disregard Trumps silly obstructing by calling for a quick resolution. and thats more than likely the dem's game plan.

Honestly the gloat is definitely a niiiice side benefit but I really think its a political play. This has forced the news to talk about fairness and given constitutional conservatives time to mull the issue over rather than letting McConnell jam something down their throats before they have time to honestly think about it.

Blumenthal: Some GOP 'have very severe misgivings' about McConnell impeachment strategy

Quote

WASHINGTON – Democratic Senator Richard Blumenthal stated Thursday that he believes some Senate Republicans are concerned with Majority Leader Mitch McConnell's approach to working with the White House on how to handle the impeachment trial of President Donald Trump in the Senate.

"I've talked to anywhere from five to 10 of my colleagues who have very severe misgivings about the direction that Mitch McConnell is going in denying a full, fair proceeding with witnesses and documents. My hope is that they will say publicly what Senator Murkowski did, and really hold Mitch McConnell accountable," the Connecticut senator said during “Capitol News Briefing” on the Connecticut Network.

Of course he could be bluffing but I genuinely find it hard to believe there arent at least that many constitutional conservatives left in the Senate.

Interesting thought.

I honestly think theyll just impeach a second time to include new info that comes out whether its via court cases or the FOIA like the emails we got the other day.

Like you said the info is going to keep coming its just a matter of how and when.

as it stands Farmer, its not just Trump that has broken the law, but alot of his administration for not complying with congress. If and when they go to the courts and if they win (which there is no reason not to), then Lindsay Graham and Mitch McConnell will also be under a lot of pressure to resign.

No wonder Trump is chitting bricks with his non stop twittering.
