Voyager scientist: Enceladus may harbor life

Any of those outer solar system moons that have liquid water might harbor life. The real trick is proving conclusively whether they do or not.
Unfortunately, that's a long way off still. The tech to detect life under all that ice is still unproven or non-existent, and then there's the question of space program budgets as well as enough real public interest to get the funding...Most people just don't GAF, especially with all the other crap going on. Climate change, political and social unrest at really high levels, the widening gap between rich and poor, etc.

It's a shame, really. I hope we can prove that life exists off of earth in my lifetime, but as I get older, I'm thinking more and more that it won't happen...Unless aliens land and talk to us or something similarly grandiose.

Well, duh. They've been speculating about life on ice moons like Enceladus and Europa for decades. Wake me up when a rover actually finds that life.
