The fake conspiracies keep the real slimey stuff covered up. Whistleheads are looking for aliens when they should be looking at mining and waste disposal companies.

Big Pharma owns several powerful Democrats and Republicans. That's a no-brainer

Your post is a bit confusing.  So, the news covers things up, or usually just skews the news to the corporate bias.  LIke ABC, owned by Disney has a different bias and different agendas than CBS, NBC, Telemundo or BBC.  Then there is CBN that has a totally different agenda.  I don't know if you are in the U.S. or not so I don't know what media you get your news from.

As for the drug pandemic, I agree with you.  The pharmaceutical companies are in business to make profit, not help people stay healthy so they will pay a lot of money to keep things out of the news if they can.

Yep, among other things.  They ruined a lot of the old fairy tales too.  AND in the 80's their movies and television aimed at 10 year olds had stupid adults so the kids could be heros.  How idiotic is that?  So all kids get the message that they are smarter than their parents.  Quite annoying.

You are painting something with a very broad brush I think.  The pharmaceutical companies.....you mean there is more than one?  Specifically, which pharmaceutical companies are in business to make profit and not help people?  How does that work...they just produce medicines that do nothing for patients?  If that were the case then why would anyone buy their medicine?

Are there unscrupulous pharama companies?  Of course.  There are also unscrupulous Roofing Companies...

The Fundamental of business is not to make profit.  The Fundamental of business is to help people.  A business must make profit or they won't be in business long.

My experience indicates that all pharmaceutical corporations (I will qualify that, thank you for calling me out) are unscrupulous.  I do understand that there are smaller companies that do research for specific diseases and are scrupulous and meticulous in their testing and in their sales of the drugs they develop.

Well, that sounds noble, joc, and I am not a cynic of any note, but while the profit motive can and does happily co-exist with helping people, the two are not, of necessity, bound together.

This sounds like advertising targeted at women, where the husband is usually portrayed as rather dense.

Yes that is how business works they do have to make a profit, but at the same time in order to make that profit they must have customer safety in mind. Heres where the problems begin, in big business  customer safety isn't always a companies main focus, sometimes making a profit out weights what is right, and history proves this to be a fact.

Peace

If ever left scratching your head about what motivates people, individually or collectively, money and/or sex, are usually closely implicated. Not always, of course, but as a rule of thumb...….

Yeah, that bugs me too.  I was married to someone that was "rather dense" but I think it was an act because when I would pretend like I knew he was competent he would rise to the occasion.

The dynamics around maximising profit whilst staying within the letter of the law is a staple of business management.

Not sure about what is seen in your area, but just about every pay-day lender ad here has the idiot male breaking something, being unable to rectify some problem, like a leak in the roof,, and the wife sees the only alternative is a fast loan.

I don't disagree, but maximising profits also can lead to cutting corners and other dangerous things that can lead to threats to public safety which again history shows have occurred.

Well, at least they can come together and sing Kumbaya on ONE topic :)  They all loathe the Bad Orange Man.  I hope everyone in America takes the time to listen to Project Veritas this week.  They did a sting on a Bernie campaign staffer and the things he said literally left me speechless.  Now, I'd never vote for a socialist of any description but I really hope Sanders gets on top of this story and puts this guy on the road, like, NOW.

OKeefe intimated that this was just ONE of several of Bernie's campaign staff that held very similar views :(   Folks... if this rhetoric is followed by action after the election then we're going to see things in this country that hasn't been seen since the 60s.  Maybe even worse than that.  I realize that many people feel that Trump has major problems and should not be president but he was elected by gaining the majority of votes in the majority of states, just like every other president in our history.  If this scum's predictions hold true then cities are going to burn in the aftermath of an election.

How does this nation come together after something like that?

More like going after the dollar, than social engineering. Based on psychology, which is quite the perverted science.

True, but imagine a system where you've been in business for a decade or two and when you were a startup you did everything that was required by regulatory agencies but you receive a notice that you aren't in compliance and serious fines or even imprisonment could be in your future.  Our Congress has abdicated part of its responsibilities to LEGISLATE and has yielded that power to regulatory agencies.  Those agencies are part of the Executive branch but none of these employees ever have to stand for election.

They can write regulations that have penalties up to and including jail time, then if they choose to, they can fine a business, or worse, for not being in compliance BEFORE THE REG EXISTED.  That's right, friends and neighbors, retroactive laws and penalties that NO ONE could have a way of knowing about because they didn't exist.  I'm reading a book by Supreme Court Justice Gorsuch and this was just one of the jaw-dropping gems that he reveals.  Those penalties against individuals or businesses that broke rules that didn't exist when they were broken () can't be adjudicated and overturned by the courts.  If a judge hears and gives an opinion that the situation is unjust, the regulatory agency has the authority to ignore him.

The book is called "A REPUBLIC, IF YOU CAN KEEP IT"

Do you even know the names of all Pharmaceutical Corporations? Can you specify exactly what the 'unscrupulous' behavior that they all partake in is?

Retrospective laws, in principle, stink, but I'd say someone could dredge up some circumstance that justified a particular retrospective law. I am actually even uneasy about manufacturers of asbestos products being hit with massive claims, on the basis they "knew" the products were harmful, my reply to that would be that there were those better placed to know the risks, and that would be doctors, the medical profession in general, and the govt Health Depts particularly, in their role of advising Health Ministers etc., and then the politicians, if they had been so advised by those people. Somewhere in that chain of responsibility, lies at least equal blame.

I used to work for alpha therapeutics (atc) on the Nasdaq well it was called the vampire shop we took plasma from low income high risk donors it was ok if they were cannabis an amphetamine users but anyone on opioids was booted out it contaminated the product they said it helped fight against sickle cell Kawasaki disease an burn victims it also increased the hep b antigen in patients system since it was extracted from immune donors like myself the parent company was in Japan well the F.D.A found mold in the production facility an shut them down upon reinspection they again were in violation this caused a chain reaction they sold off part of the company laid off the bottom 3 paid employees at all the donor centers nation wide including me  soon thereafter the company was swallowed up by Baxter Health care the diagnostic branch of the company had German roots it was a strange company in respect to we were inspected by teams of medical personal from Germany an Switzerland  I regularly shipped HIV an hep b & c tainted plasma to a main lab in Memphis there was many things that disturbed me we regularly recieved quarterly  bonuses which exceeded are normal 2 week pay had company meetings complete with a buffet an a money no object when it came to safe guarding are stock pile of frozen plasma before The F.D.A protected consumers with clinical trials an studies now I see commercial about drugs an side effects such as Male breasts, erections lasting more then 12 hours suicide thoughts hearing voices bleeding stroke heart attacks etc they dont require testing anymore? The liberals complained so much they stopped research on animals an discontinued trials? Or those like myself who joined the military were secret Guinea pigs because we failed to read the fine print an signed away this is just one of many stories I have regarding  things I've seen or been a part of I missed working there but I can not respect a company that allowed gross violations of every policy an company rule to be broke by numerous employees this is a growing trend I see in alot of major companies to include pilot truck stops which is owned by the Cleveland browns owner with his brother being a major political figure in Tennessee  another company that bends rules to there benefit but that's another story lol

Holy heck, AT, this link's film is explosive and just firing one dude for this is not a fix. Wonder how many other Leftist/Socialists are this wound up and ready for violence? This is Antifa on a large scale. Not sure the Nation will come together after something like he describes.

I heard a doctor, of all people, say that these companies are known to commission multiple studies and trials of a particular medication, then cherry-pick the one that casts their product in the best light. I don't know how common that has been, but it does not seem ethically sound to me.
