Sander's Aide: Gulags/Reeducation not so bad.

This story broke today and I haven't seen any MSM, including FOX, cover it at all.  I'd like to discuss it from the perspective of how Sanders could have someone like this in his campaign and be unaware of it.  Also, I've seen nothing from Sanders yet, disavowing the guy and firing him.

I would hope we can all agree that had someone like this been on Trump's team, the entire media would be running around with their hair on fire.  This guy didn't appear to be intoxicated so what he was saying was what he believes.  The biggest question I have is how many others on the Sanders campaign share these sentiments?  In a climate of daily outrage, THIS stands out, IMO.  He states in a matter of fact tone that if Sanders loses, Milwaukee will burn.  If Trump wins, cities will burn.  The most stunning admission though was his desire to put Trump supporters in re-education camps.

If this guy isn't history by tomorrow, Sanders will be.

I will say if it turns out to be what they say it is then it is bad enough the guy should receive a visit from the FBI and Secret Secret service at a minimum.

The reasn MSM isnt covering it yet is because  Project Veritas has gone the way of Judicial Watch. They were great concepts to begin, and even largely great in practice, the goal of "winning" however has reduced them to political operatives who must be thoroughly verified as if it came from Hannity himself. Im not saying theyre lying or misrepresenting yet, just that we need the whole story to come out before we begin the outrage.

The silence from the media - which would be going berserk if it was the White house janitor who said it about liberals - is why more and more Independents are being pushed into the conservative camp. I do not buy for a moment they want to make sure of the details and facts before reacting for the first time in the past 3 years of pitching their fit over the election. They are literally shoving Indies out and across the divide.

I really had hoped that after 2016 the dems would stop and realize what happened and come out and reach out to us out here, shift and get back in touch, but no. They have just decided what they think we want (if we had the sense to want it) and started work to force it to happen, and to heck with what anyone else thinks.

What we have today is not the democratic party we thought we knew, though a lot remain in the fold unaware of the wolves among them. Maybe, they will see before it goes way too far over the line and save the party. They are so worried about Trump over there they do not realize what is at their own back.

Lord have mercy.

IDK Trumpism did the same to many indys :st for irreconcilable reasons. When it comes time to pull the lever people wont be pulling the lever for their media outlet.

Its funny I say the exact same thing about the GOP.

I do think youve got a little bit of echo chamber thinking going on. Honestly the campaign from right wing media began as the dems will push independents to the GOP with impeachment and that clearly hasnt played out .

Independants by and large are just like everyone else on Trump, entrenched,  and the polling has remained relatively consistent throughout his presidency.

Yes, of course, echo chamber thinking because it is not liberal. You can do better than that, surely?

Polling.   After how they kept saying that Hillary was certain to win, I don't trust them much anymore.

Progressives are Socialists and need to run in their own party, not be allowed to take over the Dem party to force their way and agenda through by using the size and machine of the Democrats. If they allow it then I guess they deserve the rewards.

We'll see how it proves out. This sort of rhetoric, met by silence, is shocking really. It is Brown Shirt talk. If you are OK with that then you are. It is what it is.

No echo chamber thinking because A. there is no evidence of it, and B. only one echo chamber is saying it is happening despite the dearth of evidence.

So your post about independents was just based on feelings?

Did you used to be a democrat? I ask because your post above reminds me very much of my feelings about Trumpism and the GOP. Despite McCain being my last GOP vote I still felt some sort of a bond to their values and its been weirdly disturbing watching them be destroyed.

As to the bolded I already said just based on the available evidence he should receive a visit from the FBI and Secret Service. I am however reserving judgement until the whole story comes out because of the character of the Project Veritas folks and to be honest Trumpism in general.

I never registered as a dem, but, I voted for Obama, I was an Indie but considered myself a liberal with some conservative leanings. I judge the change in the Indies because of what I have gone through the past 3 years and I will not be voting for any dems next election, despite the fact I just recently worked on the campaign of a Louisiana Senator who was a dem but did not win in the last election. I was and remain one of that person's closest confidantes as well and I know what was said in private about the party by most of the democratic polticos I ran with.

I know its easier to write me off as a twit and trumper and all that, but, what I am seeing Farmer is two special interest groups who are lethal and are NOT American in the deepest sense running us into a civil war if things do not get straightened out by the vast majority of the centrists on either side.

The squeaky wheel gets the grease, they say, but, it can also be replaced. I worry sincerely about the coming elections and fallout. It was bad enough with the paid riots after 2016 (I saw the ads, it was for hire. What bs is that?).

Its funny because ive felt forced to do the exact opposite. Ill never vote for a republican until the Trumpians and anyone who supported the madness are gone.

Honestly Id rather not write anyone off. I desperately miss the days when there were actual conversations about issues. Where I get tripped up, and where I think the real threat to America lies, is in trying to have the conversations without a commonly agreed upon set of facts and honestly that is at the core of my "hate" for Trump. A nation divided cannot stand and division is all that Trumpism offers.

To the bolded I have to wonder what is the definition of a centrist today? What is your definition?

Candidly, and I do understand that you dont agree, based on the actions of Trump and Barr thus far my biggest fear is that the fallout will be justified.

The paid protester thing is insane btw. I dont like mercenaries of any stripe LOL

I see not one mention of the Sander aid's filmed comments anywhere so far - I am looking through the MSM and came back to reply to you. I also have noted a severely limited to silent coverage of the gun grab and 2A sanctuary movement in WV, and that has been silent for weeks now. The MSM is reduced to a propaganda arm of the Progs anymore. What is not said is more telling than anything which is. When all you have is youtube for news, it is a sad day.

I find it tragically ironic that the globalists like Soros are supporting this and yet you heard yourself the fix for the billionaires - 12 hours a day breaking rocks to teach them about work.

But, no worries, gulags were not that bad and history just gives them a bad rap.

IDK  man I think alot of it is perception and preferences. For instance CNN had the gov of VA on and interviewed him specifically about the new laws. Virginia governor says he will reintroduce gun control measures after Dems take over state government   You perceive it as a story deserving of more coverage than that, and maybe it is, I see whats happening at 1600 Penn as the biggest story in my lifetime and inevitable to have a massive impact on my kids futures making it clearly worthy of the airtime it gets.

This also kind of goes back to my previous statement about commonly agreed upon facts. Again, IMO, this isnt a both sides issue. In general the MSM displays their bias in the stories they cover, not in manufacturing facts. The right wing ecosystem which has become dependent on youtube and other social media is different A white nationalist created a hoax about gun confiscation that is leading to calls for violence on social media and message boards

Plus the whole thing is dead now anyways (although im not fully convinced it was ever alive) Virginia Democrats Abandon Gun Confiscation As Pro-Freedom Groups Surge In State

__________________________________________________________________________________________________________

If CNN took the Project Veritas video and broadcast it right now without a thorough vetting process would you support the subject of the video suing them if it turned out to be a deep fake or somehow wholly different once placed in context?

Isnt that kind of creating a situation where theres no way theyre not the bad guys in your mind?

(Before anyone complains, let it be clear I refer to pottiness from both the pro-and anti-Trump camp, and for that matter the pro- and ant-Bernie camp. The amount of silliness from both sides about the other side is quite hilarious. )

It is featured in a LOT of smaller independent websites (Breitbart, The Wire, RealClearPolitics etc), but NOT, so far as I can tell, in the mainstream media.

I have to agree with you @Not A Rockstar. The silence by the mainstream media is remarkable. Unless - of course - they have all investigated the report, and found some problem with it ?

(for example, can it be proven that the person in the video IS the Aide in question, Kyle Jurek ? ).

Notwithstanding, if this had been a Trump aide, then I think CNN, MSNBC et al would have run a "qualified" version of it ANYWAY.

My hope is they are vetting it and will run the story once thoroughly vetted. Theyve already paid money once this year for running with social media posts without vetting.

Very true.  Our party system has been subverted.  It no longer holds the virtues that it did in the days of the Federalists and anti-Federalists.  This is what our Founding Fathers feared would happen.  I don’t think there are enough liberals that can wrestle the party back.  And what happened to the Democrats is happening to the Republicans (it just took longer to happen).  Socialism has done its best to destroy this nation.  But nature does try to fight back to achieve balance.  That is why Trump is President.  He brings balance back to the force.  The Left calls Trump corrupt yet they cannot see their own corruption.  But that is what Socialism does.  The old political spectrum no longer works today.  There is no Left or Right (The extremes are all ‘Left’).  It is less government control vs more government control (‘Left’).  Trump rallies those that lean toward less government control.  True American Liberals are not Left and true American Conservatives are not Right.  They embody the values of the Founding Fathers.  The likes of those like Dave Rubin and Alan Dershowitz are Liberals that I can stand shoulder to shoulder with.  But when Republicans like Romney, accept the stripes of a Rino, they have traveled down the dark path to the Left.

The best polling I’ve seen overall, has been Trump rallies.  I’ve been to a rally.  It is louder than a rock concert.  People’s spirits are flying, the place is jumping, and it makes it very exciting.  This movement is REAL!  It is the authentic bona fides.

Progressives are Socialists and need to run in their own party, not be allowed to take over the Dem party to force their way and agenda through by using the size and machine of the Democrats. If they allow it then I guess they deserve the rewards.

It would be nice but that is how Socialism operates.  Socialism is a parasite and it must usurp its victim and take it over but at such a slow pace that no one notices.  That is what happened after Reagan, the Rinos slowly took power and no one noticed.  And before you know it, someone is wanting to restrict hate speech but they never seem to define what that is and then suggesting re-education camps.

My father-in-law survived the Soviet gulags.  He was a Polish citizen on 1 Sept.  The Soviets reached their town and rounded up everyone (and their families) that owned a gun and sent them to the Steppes (not quite Siberia).  The only good thing about the gulag was that if the Nazis had beaten the Soviets to their town, he would have been shot.  The Germans killed everyone left on that street.  They had followed a trail in the snow of partisans that had ambushed a patrol and it led to the group of houses.  A concentration camp is still a prison.  There is nothing good or better about that.  Movies like “Beyond the Steppes” (2010), “Katyn” (2007), & “A Forgotten Odyssey” (2001) give good accounts of how it was like.  Odyssey & Katyn are on youtube.  When the German’s attacked Russia, the Polish captives (some 1.7 million) were set free so they could go fight the Germans.  They walked over 700 miles to Iran.  The families eventually settled in Kenya but the men trained and then headed to Europe.  My father-in-law’s father was part of the 2nd Polish Mechanized of II Corps that took Monte Cassino.  My wife has his medals.  When we were in Italy, May 2006, we had stopped off and visited the rebuilt monastery.  From there you could see the Polish cemetery.  May is when the attack is remembered.  There are bus loads of Poles that visit and lay flowers and light candles.  My grand father-in-law carried many of the fallen.  When I got to the steps I broke down and wept.  If my grand father-in-law had been killed, I would have never known my wife.  Socialism of all flavors ruin lives.  Don’t anyone tell me different!  The Progs can take their re-education camps and shove it!!

Don't hold your breath on that fairy tale, Farmer. Taking time (for one of the first times in recent years) to VET it is a joke. Bull stuff. They will not run it unless they decide to sheetcan Bernie for Warren or The Bloom. Their hope was once Biden but he is tanking, so Bernie is the new hope, if he can stay afloat so he is being protected by the "fair" and "unbiased" MSM. If they decide to pass him up this will become news then. I think they are hiding their real pick until the end so there is less time to reveal his policies and open him up for bad press, so I would guess Bloom is the real choice. In a bad batch, really, he is about all they have, and they cannot afford us to see the threats to use the National Guard to seize guns and force disarming citizens which he backs totally. We are watching them keep blocks afloat until late in the game when they try to wash off The Bloom to surprise us all with him as a candidate. No surprise there. He avoids the debates and spends cash to HIDE. They allow it because they are scared to risk losing on this scale. We will see how much his money can buy...

The Virginia gun grab is not over, as you want to suggest at all. It is just being ignored to pretend it is not happening and to avoid rabble rousing the deplorable masses. All the loons did was back away and allow the grab to be grandfathered in as a concession. It will be interesting to see if any of the 2A Sanctuary counties do take WV up on their offer and try to change states, as has been offered. It is a fascinating bit of a struggle, being kept out of view of the country for the largest part. Because if everybody knew what is going on and what The Bloom is backing hard, then it would be another decade before many dems ever got elected in much of the country again. If anyone reading this doesn't know what is going on, google about it and find out because it matters and is huge and even more critical as it is being silenced in the media so you don't know. If this succeeds for the dems, you can rest assured, it will be how they come after you as they need you to be disarmed, obviously, or this would not be their first priority before they even got into office. Gun grabs and gulags... what normal people would even think of that stuff? Think about it.

The very day after we took Suleimani out, I clicked on youtube and lo and behold what should I see on my suggested videos but no less than 6 VLOGS about travel to Iran and how wonderful the people are, half done by barely dressed Western gals romping about with smiling, tolerant and kind Muslims all approving of them. Nothing subtle at all with these lame propagandists.

I am fine with people having liberal views or conservative ones, it has never bothered me if I am not agreed with, but supporting silence when it works for them, or worse, being blind - that is distressing. We cannot have a biased media. We cannot allow it. It is either a free press or it is just decorative printing on the toilet paper.

As for jokes about discussions like this - get over yourselves. I happen to quite like @Farmer77 and really, nearly everyone on this topic. I feel no heat about my words. I am just terribly saddened that so few really understand what is at stake here, and it is actually NOT Trump. He is just being used as the diversion in the takeover of the Dem Party. That is the next step. Once they get control they will weed that out to their liking and come on for the next step.

I am just terribly sad to see this and so few willing to forget labels and speak out against the deceit - which is silence as much as anything ever said or screamed from the rooftops.

Maybe. This will be the first election where an indistinguishable "deep fake" video will be possible. It could be taken out of context and pieced together it could also have been an off the clock intoxicated moment (not that it makes it OK but it changes the legality and impact of his words regarding violence vs if he was speaking to what he thought were his subordinates while in an official capacity)

Again though I already said just based on what is available he should be garnering some law enforcement visits. The media should be thoroughly vetting and preparing to run stories about it, one way or the other.
