What I find particularly interesting is the reports of the bright glowing coming off them combined with accelerating at high speed.

Obviously light is caused by photons which are a force carrying particle and we are missing a gravity particle in the standard model. I suspect something is being done with light to create gravity warping. If I was a scientist I would be looking at light to create a warp drive.

It seems like a very intuitive solution to the UFO mystery, except for the fact that it's impossible (or would at least require all the energy in the universe).

In English, if you run time backwards you dont get back to the same starting conditions. Atoms are not like the balls on a pool table, they are probabilistic instead of being deterministic.

I believe in the 'go back in time, tread on a bug, and change the future' scenario.

So, the only way I can think of time travellers not altering anything, is through their knowledge of the multiverse.

It could explain their elusiveness.  If we spot them as they are passing through they would only be visible for a brief moment.  It could also explain the lack of physical evidence.  Their destination would have to be the precise time that they're seen to be anything less than ephemeral.  If eternity is available to you it's hard to imagine anyone finding our time to be the most interesting.
