+Not A Rockstar Posted January 21, 2020 #3 Share Posted January 21, 2020 Earth quake lights? Interesting. The Ring video was a good collection of visual effects with bugs also before the sky started lighting up.
SpaceBumZaphod Posted January 21, 2020 #4 Share Posted January 21, 2020 (edited) Good video. I know he said it was 40 degrees. But, it looks like heat lightning, distant lightning reflected on the clouds with no thunder. People also said the lights blinked on and off. Transformer? The shaking? Earthquake lights? I don't know. Edited January 21, 2020 by SpaceBumZaphod

+Desertrat56 Posted January 21, 2020 #7 Share Posted January 21, 2020 It looks man made to me. It would not be hard with the right equipment and if tapped in to the power grid at the right place it could cause the power outage.
David Thomson Posted January 21, 2020 #8 Share Posted January 21, 2020 The Native Americans and settlers reported these kinds of lights and hums in the years prior to the New Madrid earthquakes. These types of lights were also seen during and around the time of the earthquakes. I have seen earthquake lights during the Northridge earthquake in California. SpaceBumZaphod Posted January 21, 2020 #12 Share Posted January 21, 2020 (edited) Found this on the Ohio history site. So, earthquake lights and a small rumbler might be the cause. Earthquakes. ... Most of these events have been small, in the 2 to 3 magnitude range, but at least 15 earthquakes centered in the state have caused damage. The largest earthquake in Ohio occurred on March 9, 1937, in western Ohio in the Shelby and Auglaize Counties area. And how do you explain the electricity going off, a small earthquake would not cause that. I think it is a man made "event".

Vorg Posted January 22, 2020 #15 Share Posted January 22, 2020 Amelia and Bethel are 9 miles apart. Clermont county has a several power and generating plants just a few miles to the west of both those cities along the river. https://www.countyoffice.org/oh-clermont-county-power-plant/ It does indeed sound like a power plant especially with the lights flickering and the colors described. https://www.mapquest.com/us/ohio/amelia-oh-282025562
