I think it is....and I would take boredom one step further, because boredom is a thing commonly, when one has nothing to do at the moment. You know, waiting in line, the doctors office, etc. But with my existential crisis (more than one and currently ongoing) it’s not that I’m actually bored because I have more than enough to do. It’s just that I don’t want to do anything right now. Nothing....well, except for a few things. Like numbing myself out of my misery....but aside from that, in normal state of mind......the things I normally love to do, or don’t mind doing, become less meaningful or important to me and can even seem like a chore. I get standard Brit Pension/Pension Credit of about 170 GB pounds (195 US dollars) per week, and Housing Benefit pays all my rent so I'm sitting pretty and have got more money than I know what to do with, and I live alone with no dependents so I can spend every penny on myself.. PS- hop on a plane and come stay in my spare room for a break, I live on Plymouth's cobblestoned New St, it's 700 years old and there were 6 ghosts up and down the street at the last count, I've lived here 16 years but I haven't seen any yet, they don't dare mess with me.. American tourists LURV the street and ask me "Hey buddy, does this street pre-date the English Civil War?" "Yes mate" I reply, "in fact it pre-dates America"..
