BBC issuing an apology over FAKE NEWS. not a good week for them. Jumping early to push a narrative.

Media: Not enough ventilators. NHS to run out of Ventilators.

Reality: Ventilator capacity not reached. no shortage.

Media: NHS to run out of beds within days.

Reality: NHS hasn't run out of beds and has never reached anywhere near capacity. and the Military built a 4,000 bed field Hospital in 9 Days. which as only been used for 19 patients.

Media: NHS to Run out of PPE.

Reality: 84 tonnes of PPE being delivered. apparently, according to private eye when minister asked reporter to name the Hospitals who had run out of PPE supplies, reporter response "Sources"

(On PPE, and Hospital gowns., one use throw away plastic gowns. Why are they being thrown away? if they are not ripped or damaged surely they could be washed. after all we are told 30 seconds of Soap and water kills the Virus)

Now today, new attack angle from the Media.

Media NHS to run out of Oxygen.

lets see what happens.

FAKE NEWS. Goebbels would approve.

None. I slept most of the weekend, feeling a bit feverish, sore and tired but am ok now.

Todays

Yesterdays

Cases and deaths both went down.  Hopefully that will continue so that we can all get back to some sort of normality.

Yes encouraging. 596 Sunday. 494 Monday. Down from 888 on Saturday. 847 Friday. could be lag in reporting deaths as happens at weekends. But does seem a large drop even for lag reporting.

  • 847 Friday.
  • 888 Saturday.
  • 596 Sunday.
  • 494 Monday.

back up into the 800 daily range. the positive is this figure today must include delayed reporting of deaths so over the three days 637 a day. moving in the right direction.

of course they have, The FT, along with MSM want more deaths. The ONS report all deaths, and all those which contain CV19 on the death certificate so a final figure, but with a bit of creative manipulation of the figures somehow, SOMEHOW the FT claim to have found more deaths.

The Media have already put the fear of God into people. which going of the last figures seems to be causing deaths. as people with serious symptoms are not calling for ambulances or going to Hospital.

In the latests figures, 18,000 weekly deaths where reported, 7,996 deaths more than the five-year average. yet only 33% mention CV19. (6,123) in the 7,996 figure above average there is 2,000 death which are not Covid. and unusual. it seems the lockdown coupled with the media putting the fear of god into people is costing lives. so much so the Govt are running radio adverts and encouraging people who have symptoms of strokes, heart attacks etc.. to still dial 999.

BBC news Last night 10pm. It took them 7 minutes to report that the UK passed the high point of deaths. which we passed on the 8th April. so the death rate has been a downward trend since. Also took them 15 minutes to mention UK trials on Human vaccine starts Thursday.

the Beast from the East winter has still killed more people than Cv19 has, Flu in 2014/5 killed more, the Hong Kong Flu in 1963 killed 68,000.

The Media have kept no perspective at all in any of this. 0.027% of the population have died from CV19. even people with underlying health conditions are surviving the virus. the media if you believe them you get the virus your a gonna, you have underlying health problems no hope a gonna. a guy who was 101 survived it.

The Media want Panic. panic panic.

The British media told us, there will be no food, no medicine, no Jobs. Recession, and this was Brexit.( it was never going to be the case)  and now CV19 as made them look even more foolish in their prophecies of doom.

The WHO are now saying only 3% of the population have anti-bodies to the Virus. if this is true then where along way away from herd immunity (40% to 70%) which means once the lockdown lifts it'll be wave after wave of CV19 deaths.

Its all doom doom doom.

Fear, there is nothing to fear but fear itself. we'll soon realise this if the WHO's figures are accurate.

0.027% in a population of 65 million.

The Financial Times are claiming that there have been as many as 41,000 deaths in the UK.

Source: https://www.ft.com/content/67e6a4ee-3d05-43bc-ba03-e239799fa6ab

Whether or not the exact figure in the FT article is correct, this methodology, basically 'excess deaths' in the period either directly or indirectly attributable to covid 19, is a more appropriate gauge to the health impact of the virus and the governments response to it.

Naturally governments, not just the UKs, will shy away, and try to re-direct, from these figures. The 41k and even the lower figure of circa 20k (when care home figures are added in) should be sobering thought for those already taking risks with the social distancing and isolation guidelines.

In  other news A leading US public health official warned on Tuesday that a new wave of coronavirus hitting the US next winter could be “even more difficult” for America to deal with than the current outbreak. https://www.theguardian.com/world/2020/apr/21/coronavirus-second-wave-hydroxychloroquine-trial

And the Trump miracle cure may not be such a miracle after all. who'd have thought that?

While some government's responses to the crisis have been a mixture of good, bad, haphazard, truth and misdirection - the bottom line is that it is up to citizens to follow the guidance to a tee now, so as  to minimise the time required to get to a 'controlled state' and hence get back to something akin to normality.

FYI, the latest Office of National Statistics figures re weekly total deaths in England & Wales. I have inserted this mornings figure for Week 15 (in bold):

                                                                          2020          (2019)       5yr Average

  • Week   1 (ending Friday,   3 Jan)    -    12,254        (10,955)        [12,175]
  • Week   2 (ending Friday, 10 Jan)    -    14,058        (12,609)        [13,822]
  • Week   3 (ending Friday, 17 Jan)    -    12,990        (11,860)        [13,216]
  • Week   5 (ending Friday, 32 Jan)    -    11,612        (11,297)        [12,760]
  • Week   6 (ending Friday,   7 Feb)    -    10,986        (11,660)        [11,925]
  • Week   7 (ending Friday, 14 Feb)    -    10,944        (11,824)        [11,627]
  • Week   8 (ending Friday, 21 Feb)    -    10,841        (11,295)        [11,548]
  • Week   9 (ending Friday, 28 Feb)    -    10,816        (11,044)        [11,183]
  • Week 10 (ending Friday,   6 Mar)    -    10,895        (10,898)        [11,498]
  • Week 11 (ending Friday, 13 Mar)    -    11,019         (10,567)        [11,205]         9 Covid deaths  (NHS)
  • Week 12 (ending Friday, 20 Mar)    -    10,645        (10,402)        [10,573]     166 Covid deaths  (NHS)
  • Week 13 (ending Friday, 27 Mar)    -    11,141         ( 9,867)        [10,130]     582 Covid deaths  (NHS)
  • Week 14 (ending Friday,    3 Apr)    -    16,387        (10,126)        [10,305]   2846 Covid deaths  (NHS)
  • Week 15 (ending Friday,  10 Apr)    -    18,516        (10,291)        [10,520]   5353 Covid deaths  (NHS)
  • Week 16 (ending Friday,  17 Apr)    -        ?             (  9,025)        [    ?     ]   5618 Covid deaths  (NHS)

The bolded figure of 18,516 deaths is the latest figure for total deaths in Week 15 released by the Office of National Statistics (ONS) this morning. It is 76% higher than the 5Year Average for Week 15 and represents a 80% increase on the same week last year.

Contrary to what Stevewinn has been claiming in recent weeks the current Covid-19 crisis is neither comparable to the seasonal flu epidemic nor has anything like it swept through the UK late last year or earlier this year. It has certainly not been in the UK since last November and the normal excess deaths that occurred last winter were entirely due to the seasonal flu that takes its toll on the elderly every winter. It must now be entirely obvious that the effects of seasonal flu and of Covid-19 on those vulnerable to them are dramatically different.

Excess deaths.

  • 50,000. 2017/18.
  • 37,020. 2016/17
  • 28,000. 2014/15.
  • 23,200. 2018/19.
  • 6,123.   2020 -

We've past the peak of the virus according to the experts which occurred on the 8th April. See how the figures pan out over the rest of the year. Said all over by Easter. We'd know where we stood and we do the trend is downwards.

To date 6,123 cv19 excess deaths. Additional 2,000 excess deaths due to measures taken to stop the virus. People who have been that frightened no doubt by media reports they are no longer seeking medical help. And consequently dying as a result.

It seems the novel part of the virus is worse than the virus itself.

0.027% of the population have died from cv19. As the Govt health minister states. And we must remember his words. As they are important. For the vast majority of people it's a mild flu like illness, a heavy cold. The vast majority don't require hospital treatment. And those that do a very small number need critical care.

To many people have been caught up in the media saturation coverage. As I said it's the novel part of the virus. The flu is no longer novel well know it, understand it, somewhat. It still claims thousands of lives every year. Even though its a global killer, many don't even take up the offer of the free annual vaccine. the media don't report flu out breaks If they did their coverage would be worse than for cv19.

I think it's about time we moved all cv19 paitents into the Nightingale hospitals and allow the NHS hospitals return to normal function. Otherwise where going to lose more lives more than we save.

Hopefully the virus is more wide spread and antibodies in the community higher than the 3% the WHO state. otherwise we face a long hard road, as winter approaches and those who survive cv19 with lung damage could be struck down in the second wave.

I've read a report this morning, it is stating the obvious but doesn't fit the media agenda, anyway the gist of it is until the pandemic is over and the virus is under control we'll not know the best method of dealing with it due to the many variables, countries report and gather data using different criteria, density of population, some countries put great effort into keeping old and sick people alive, in many countries they'd already be dead, a sparsely populated country with a low death rate may have had even less deaths using the method of a high death rate county that is densely populated, some countries may not be telling the truth.

excellent news.

the downward trend continues.

the positive is the daily death figure is lower than 616, as we know these deaths will be over the last three days. so in truth where looking at sub-500 a day.
